Wireless adapter for Xbox Live
|
|
|
| I'm about to buy a wireless game adapter for Xbox live and have some
questions:
1. Would there be any noticeable difference between a "B" adapter than
a "G" adapter?
2. Would a "B" adapter slow down my network noticeably? If it were to
slow it down, would this only be when the Xbox was on and accessing the
network?
3. When Xbox live is being played (via wireless), would that
noticeably slow down the computer that has a wired connection to the
router? I play an online fps, so I'm concerned that Xbox will cause lag
while I'm playing online.
Thanks.

| I'd definitely go for the 802.11g device, like either the MN-740 from
Microsoft or the brand new D-Link DGL-3420:
http://www.dlink.com/products/?sec=0&pid=383 It offers WPA-PSK encryption,
which the Microsoft product doesn't, among other things.
If you are running an 802.11g LAN, I would stay with a product which will
run on it without declining the rest of the LAN.
