unrecognizable wireless setup disc?

| I'm just trying to setup my xbox wireless adapter (MN-740), and when I put
the disc into my xbox it comes up with an error that says "this disc is
unrecognizable. please make sure it's an xbox disc.... blah blah blah...".
just curious what I should do now. take it back?... any help would be great.

| Make sure the disk is clean.

You should not have to use the disk AFIK. Simply connect the unit to
the Xbox, power the Xbox, the adapter detects your network, configures
itself, and connects. Read the installation instructions.

| Could be SSID broadcast is off on the LAN, and without the MN-740 update,
the firmware won't be fully functional:
