Subject: Why Halo 3 will be out VERY soon!!!!!!!!!!
First, I apologize this is a bit long but please let me know what you
think. Before reading this keep in mind that I have played through both
games multiple times, and read the entire series of novels, and have
absolutely loved every entry into the Halo universe (especially Red vs.
Blue!), however;
Picture this, you;re in charge of marketing and development, and
essentially the success of the Halo franchise, you have two distinct
crowds anticipating the release of the next entry into the series, crowd
one, is completely obsessed with the story, what happens to Master
Chief, Earth, Kelly, Dr. Halsley, the Master Chief flash clone, the
Covenant, etc.; the other crowd is absolutely frothing at the mouth for
Halo 2 to be the next Xbox Live killer app. Somehow you have to more
than satisfy both crowds. At E3 3003, nearly a year and a half before
the release date, you show the utterly jaw dropping New Mombassa Earth
battle scene, fully rendered, fully outfitted with enemy, marines,
vehicles, etc.! The following year you release the Xbox Live Zanzibar
video full of the hottest new features, rocket tracking, and dual
wielding is re-emphasized, the "Anti-Son-of-a-XXXXX-Stick," and other
features that made all of us who had Halo 2 reserved for eons more
excited than our first -blam!- encounter! Mission Accomplished, both
crowds have magnified their level of anticipation 1000%, pre-orders
over-run retailers nationwide ensuring every release date record (video
game or box office) will be obliterated.
Meanwhile in development you encounter a problem, if you attempt to
build the true killer Live app Halo 2 is supposed to be, while fully
completing the campaign mode story, you may absolutely nail it, but
would (at least until they come up with a new enemy and story for future
sequels) spoil the chances for another near future blockbuster sequel,
and run the risk of packing so much content into one bliss inspiring
mega-game, that both the multi-player game and the campaign could never
end up living up to the hype, and wallow in mediocrity; therefore
delivering a near fatal blow to the Halo franchise, and a huge fall in
future sales to the Xbox console, the console that Halo built. Knowing
that outcome is entirely unacceptable, you have to make a drastic, last
minute change to your nearly completed super game.
Not being appointed head of the largest gaming project in history by
mere coincidence, you develop a strategy that will undoubtedly land you
and your staff in the gaming hall of fame. Knowing that the game play
engine will make anything you throw at the public at least fun to play,
all you have to do is make it interesting. You decide to release a game
with a trimmed down single player campaign from what everyone was led to
believe it would be, add filler (all of the covenant levels), and also
add enough plot twists and mysteries so that not only the game is more
than enticing enough to finish, you are left wondering things like,
among many others, will Cortana aid the flood? Why did I hear the
mysterious voice of Captain Keyes in certain levels? What will happen to
the Covenant with the Brute uprising bringing their race near civil war?
And how will Master Chief be able to stop the Arc from remote detonating
the other Halos, and save earth from the seemingly unstoppable covenant
armada; conveniently ending in nearly the same place we were all led to
believe Halo 2 would start. With the newly trimmed down campaign mode
you can, without fear of mediocrity, release all of the Xbox Live
content originally planned to deliver a game thats few single
player shortcomings will be immediately overlooked by the plethora of
online features and game modes that will consume countless hours, days,
months, and even years of our lives. You decide to unofficially name
this incredible game, Halo 2: Combat Online.
Now without allowing time for the recently released Halo monsters
hype to settle, you focus your efforts on the surprise you left for only
the hardcore Halo masters who would dare complete the Halo 2 campaign on
the near impossible Legendary difficulty setting "Coming February 9th.";
With the real conclusion to the now Halo trilogy nearly completed from
the past 3 plus years of endless work, you officially drop the bomb on
the public, Halo 3: Combat Earth will release a mere three months after
Halo 2: Combat Online! Rather than including a new online component,
with the exception of Xbox live co-op play, all new levels, weapons, and
vehicles will be released as downloadable content for Halo 2, and will
focus entirely on the greatest single player campaign mode in video game
history; starting with Master Chief on the Arc, including the
mysteriously disappearing New Mombassa level, concluding the conflict on
earth with a battle more epic than even the original Halo 2 hype has led
anyone to believe, and finally taking Master Chief to the Covenant home
world to bring an end to the threat of returning Covenant hordes. All of
that while tying up all of the mysteries that have been strewn up by
both the Halo 2 campaign and the series of books!
Bravo Bungie and Microsoft, on your brilliant venture to bring pure and
utter bliss to the countless Halo fan boys and girls!
While this is entirely speculation from one of millions of Halo fans, it
is also what Bungie and Microsoft have set themselves up for. Fulfilling
my prophecies would bring all parties, consumers, developers, and
producers alike the greatest and most profitable gaming experience ever.
Let me know what you think and thanks for taking the time to read this!

hmmmm... don't know what to really make of it. I do hope it's true and
it might be good biz strategy- make a lot more profit and make the

| Nah. Halo 3 will probably arrive in about 2006 or 2007. And, I hope
that it's not a battle on Earth. Why does everyone want it to be a
battle on Earth? You dig the idea of human society in tatters for the
next 150 years after the game ends? Woo-hoo, we won! Now we have to
re-learn how to run coal-fired factories, since everything else is
smashed up and we are bankrupt. Too bad about those 200 million people
who starved to death or died of disease, but man, we sure did get a
kick out of pretending that Halo was Black Hawk Down!
And by the way, I think it's pretty clear that "the Ark" is Earth, not
that small Forerunner ship. If you know what an "ark" is, you can see
why I would think that.
I thought the story was great, but then, I didn't expect a resolution.
I don't really understand why anybody would have expected a
resolution. You know that with Xbox 2 coming, there is guaranteed to
be a Halo 2 timed to roughly coincide with the new hardware's release.
MS would be foolish to kill the golden goose at this point. Halo 3
paired with Xbox 2 could increase sales of the new console by 50%.

as long as you're asking about the Arbitor, he only has 3 fat fingers:
how does he use the gun triggers shaped to fit the human five-thin-
fingered hand?

I don't think it's a matter of others noticing or not noticing, so
much as a matter of your interpretations being different from those of
others.
The ark wasn't just a way for a few humans to survive the flood. It
was a way for all species to survive it - two of each, so they could
reproduce.
SPOILERS FOLLOW.
The Forerunner ship appears to be rather small, doesn't it?
I think it's very likely (though not absolutely certain) that "the
Ark" is Earth. Contrary to popular belief, when they cut from the
scene where the Arbiter asks where the Ark can be found, they do not
go immediately to a scene of the master chief in the Forerunner ship.
They go to a scene where the Forerunner ship breaks into normal space
in Earth's solar system, which then pans to show the Earth, close-up
enough to see clouds and continents. It then shows Cairo station's
control room, and then it shows the inside of the Forerunner ship.
Based on how it's done, PLUS the Covenant's accidental pre-invasion
with 15 ships, PLUS the apparent tiny size of the Forerunner ship,
PLUS the fact that 343 Guilty Spark refers to humans but not Covenant
as "reclaimers", I think that the Earth is the Ark. I further think
that humanity is a direct descendent of the Forerunners. I think that
at some point, we will see very tangible ties between the Forerunners
and - for example - pyramid and Mayan ruin construction.
I suspect that the Earth was somehow shielded (and may remain
shielded) from the effect of the Halos.

When did that happen? I've never heard his voice on any levels and I play
