Author It seems much easier to evade the Flood in 2.

In H1 you cannot evade the flood easily, you get cornered and have to kill
them all. In H2 you can normally run right past everybody, course it helps
to be invisible. I was amazed at how effortless it was to beat the game on
Heroic.

Yeah, it was amazingly easy in Heroic but Legendary in H2 seems a lot
harder than it was in H1. One thing that a really hate about Legendary
is that the Elites never miss when they fire. I can understand hitting
you 85%-90% of the time but 100% of the time whenever you're exposed and
running?

Actually, I have had them miss occasionally. I'd say 99% of the time. It
happened at long distance when I reversed directions after they had already
fired.

I have played three levels on Legendary. I don't remember the level
names, but the ones I've played are the one on Cairo Station, the one
when you first get to Earth, and the last level. I would say that
based on these three levels, legendary on Halo 2 is only slightly
harder than on Halo 1; however, I keep getting stuck in Cairo Station
as I run out of ammunition in one of the hangar bays. It's not so much
that I can't beat the Covenant as it is that there are just more of
them than I have bullets. I think I'll pull it off at some point as I
get lucky with grenades or headshots, but so far, I would say that's
the hardest part of the game in that it just doesn't seem possible. I
even managed to kill them off with an energy sword once, and a new
group jumped in around me from the purple tube and killed me.

The last level is, I think, pretty easy other than the final fight,
which is a disappointing "boss battle".

The level on Earth was fairly tough due to Covenant snipers combined
with super-tough grey elites, but you can beat it by being methodical
and using all weapons at your disposal.

I'm glad I'm not the only one stuck in the hangar bays. Running out of
ammo is exactly what happens to me also.

I got through the 1st hanger bay after 8 or 9 attempts after lobbing all
my grenades in a scatter pattern while standing on the catwalk above the
alien bastards. I didn't kill them all and as a matter of fact I thought
at the time that I had just wasted my grenades so I turned around and
headed back through the auto doors down the stairs to get more ammo and
all of a sudden I hear the marines who had been firing at the covenant
cheering because they had finished them off...lol. I figure I knocked
out the Elites shields with the grenades enabling David Cross and the
rest of the Marines to snuff 'em. Lucky me. :D

I've beaten the whole game on Legendary, and I don't think it's any harder
than the first one. The part in Cairo Station where you're at the hangar bay
is hard, but with well-placed Grenades and good use of the Battle Rifle's
sniper capabilities, it's very possible.

Did I understand you to say that you do it on co-op mode? Anyway, I am
pretty sure it's possible to get through the hangar bay, but it is
definitely difficult. It reminds me in difficulty of the opening scene
when you go into the Covenant ship in Truth & Reconciliation - though
you don't get slaughtered as quickly. Instead, you run around in the
hall and in the first hangar bay scrambling for ammunition and fresh
weapons, as you spend 10 minutes on each attempt only to come up
short. At least, so far.

The first hangar bay is pretty tough but definitely do-able. The
second hangar bay, I assume there's a trick that makes it easier, but
I am not sure what that trick is. Will have to keep trying.

Give me a tip on Battle Rifle's sniper capabilities. How many times do I
need to hit an Elite in the head before he goes down? The ducks (my
slang for Grunts) are easy, one bust in the head and it's duck soup but
to drop an Elite it seems I have to hit him with 8 bursts in a row.

If its shields are down, one burst will take an Elite on any difficulty. I
don't know about shields up. But in any case, I find Sniper Rifles and
Particle Beam Rifles to be much more effective for sniping than the Battle
Rifle.

Yeah... except I'm stuck in a Hanger Bay on Legendary with neither of
those lol..

Try a Plasma Pistol/SMG or Battle Rifle combo.
