Dual wielding & misc weapons

| Very good at times, but I still like grenades.
Favorite combos:
Mixed Elite and Brute Plasma rifles, start firing Brute (red) weapon then
let in with Elite (blue) weapon, Brute weapon will overheat while Elite
keeps firing, Brute will cool about when Elite heats up; if timed properly
continuous fire is possible for quite a while; better than AR in H1 and a
lot more lethal!
Dual Needlers - the needler has a lot more terminal kill than in H1: then
double the rate of fire; again stagger start so that you don't reload both
at once - wow!
SMG and pistol; better than dual SMGs; more controllable, accurate, and very
good on Flood too; pistol is actually faster firing due to realistic 1 shot
per trigger pull than in H1. I do miss the scope though.
Better in H2 vs H1 - needler, plasma rifle, rocket launcher
Not as good - pistol, shotgun, plasma pistol
Same - Sniper rifle, Fuel rod cannon (PC)
Pleasant surprises - Beam rifle, Cov carbine, Battle rifle, Plasma cannon
Dumb weapons - Brute shot, Sentinel beam
Later for vehicles.
What do you think?

I think the pistol and SMG are a good combo, as well as the plasma
pistol and SMG (using full plasma charges to drop their shields and the
SMG to finish them).

| I think the brute shock and the sentinel laser are very good. The
sentinel laser mows down Flood and sentinels quickly.
Not in the multiplayer game, as far as I know:
Brute plasma rifles
sentinel laser
I like the H1 rocket launcher more than the H2 one ... maybe I'm just
more accustomed to it. It seems to me that rockets and grenades in
general affect smaller areas in H2, and my technique for using rockets
in H1 was to shoot the floor near my opponent's feet. I think the H2
rocket would be better vs. vehicles, though, due to the targeting
options.
The shotgun seems the same to me, except it may load a little slower,
and maybe the distance damage scales down faster. The plasma pistol is
not as good, but it retains its most valuable asset - a charged shot
still eliminates shields with one hit.
In multiplayer, my preferred combo is one plasma rifle and one SMG. I
also like the battle rifle pretty well.

Agreed. Seems like the continual laser also stops the flood from advancing
on you while you're firing.
The brute shot also seems to take out large groups of lower covenant.
Haven't had much success using them on brutes because they bounce around so
much..

| I think the Brute Shot would be damn-near worthless without the melee
attack, as it is deceptively weak. I mean, it takes me two shots to take
out a Grunt! Seriously, I tried it several times just to be sure, and from
about 15 feet away, it took 2 dead-on shots. Although later, these Brutes
seem to be able to take me out (arbiter) with a single shot.
