Author problems with the SMG

I dunno if this is supposed to happen, but every time I duel-wield the SMG
and fire both together, the barrels of both guns start to drift upward, to
the point where I'm no longer hitting the stupid target. And no I'm not
moving the D-stick! This doesn't seem to happen when weilding just one.
Anyone else noticed this? I don't like duel-wield, it's too clumsy, and I've
rarely noticed any difference when doing it, except when using two Plasma
Rifles. I prefer the ol' "rifle in one hand, grenade in other" approach.
Also the ammo amount for the weapons in H2 SUCK BALLS. Thirty-siz shells
max for the shotgun????? Jeeeeez I miss the ol' 60.

And for a while I was 100% convinced John Hurt was a voice artist for Halo
2, as one of the Prophet Hierarchs! He sounded so damn familiar, I've seen
John Hurt in loads of things (the classic Alien "chest-burster scene), he
has a very distinctive, rough voice and that Prophet sounded like him to a
T! Yet the credits don't show him at all. Alas I must be mistaken John
Hurt voicing a character would have given Bungie major kudos, dudes.

The upwards drift you are experiencing is due to the kick of the weapon.
This is by design.

I give them kudos for getting Ron Perlman, one of the greatest B-movie
actors of our time.

This is clearly detailed in the specs for the weapon.

As others have noted, the manual describes this. You can handle it by
pushing down on the joystick the appropriate amount. You get used to
it.

I think it is an aspect of weapon balance.

Another weapon balance tidbit: reload an SMG sometime, and then
immediately after, reload a battle rifle, and note how long each
action takes.
