Hey, guys, I'm back!
I finished Halo 2 yesterday, so I'll try to avoid blabbin' spoilers to those
who haven't. But I will say this: Those bloody Brutes and Hunters are HARD!

I don't find the hunters that hard. Except for the fact that they are frikin
huge and it takes like twice as many shots to bring em down. Only thing that
irritates me about the brutes is when they get into full-gallop and whack ya
into the air. When you are back on the ground they whack ya again. Very
annoying.

SPOILERS IF YOU HAVEN'T MADE IT TO LEVEL 6 OF HALO 2!
I haven't found a good weapon to take Hunters on with yet. When you run to
their backs like in the old game, they jump around and club you! I'm glad
they're harder, but I always wish I had a Warthog/Ghost to run 'em down with

Yeah, when the Brutes go full-gallop they get really annoying. Even when you
hit them with an Energy Sword, they still hurt you. Grenades don't help
either.
BTW, I don't want to make a new post, so I'm gonna put this here:
I was on the level "The Oracle" again and I was fighting the Heretic leader.
I ran away for a while and the Oracle started talking. I couldn't hear it
very well, but he said that he has "overseen the building of this
installation" and it was built to "find offenses and defences against the
Flood."

I think, therefore I make sure everyone hears about it.

Particle Beam Rifle.
I sniped one from high up. Hit him in his orange underbelly, he went
down like a ton of bricks. I assume that you can do the same up close
when he does his lunge attack thing.

Thanks! I'm off to snipe me a Hunter

| Hunters are fairly tough but some of the same techniques from Halo 1
still work.
As for Brutes, I would rather fight them than Elites, personally. They
have no shields, so you can wear them down relatively easily.
On legendary, the gray elites on the first Earth level (when you are
running through the city before reaching the beach) are baaaaad.
Especially in conjunction with jackal snipers.

You must have a technique I've never heard of before, because I've used
every one from the old game that I know and my techniques don't work :\

After I made it pretty far in the game (level 12?), I was surprised at how
easy the Elites were. I guess fighting all the Brutes gives you some
experience.

Yeah. The higher level/colored Elites are hard, especially when they have
Energy Swords. Once you get to Delta Halo (on Legendary), those sniper
Jackals are your worst enemy.

Actually, my technique is an obvious one but not widely used - just
shoot them a lot. I don't dwell on the orange areas, though I hit
those when I can. If you just shoot them a lot, they die. Let them
blast at you while you take cover, then come out and fill them with
needles or whatnot. If they charge, you can usually get the better of
them by circling.

I don't remember fighting any elites late in the game. When are you
talking about? Brutes, though, are IMO not as hard as they are meant
to be. I think Bungie goofed slightly, in fact, and underestimated how
hard they should be. They are this game's Flood - relatively easy
after the initial surprise.

I use that technique whenever I don't have a Beam Rifle now because Buster
pointed out that if you shoot a Hunter in the stomach with one, he goes down
in one or two shots. I use that now and it works great

I think it's on the level Gravemind, when the Elites are being attacked by
the Brutes. Sometimes you encounter a group of 3-4 Elites.
