Maybe this has already been answered but I missed it if it was. Does anybody
have a clue when Halo 2 is coming out for pc? I know that it will be within
a year of xbox release (probably more like 6 months), but just wondering if
anyone has even like month in mind. Thanks.

Bungie hasn't announced anything, Bob.

I'm quite sure he meant "Bungie hasn't announced anything _regarding a
PC release_" since that's what the thread's about.

The question was: "when Halo 2 is coming out for PC," and Bungie has not
announced anything yet.

He meant nothing for the PC version.

I'm guessing MS (since they own Bungie) will want to use the hype of
Halo 2 to sell more XBOX consoles, so, we'll just have to wait until
the game hits its maturity cycle. My guess is 18-24 months after the
XBOX release.

How long after the Halo 1 xbox release was the PC version released?

I'm not sure exactly, but at least two years.

According to GameSpot, Halo 1 came out on Xbox on November 14, 2001; the
PC version came out September 30, 2003, 22-1/2 months later.

To me this is one of the dumbest things that microsoft could do. Sure they
want to press their xbox and sell more of those but they are going to lose a
ton of pc sales when and if they finally decide to come out with it for the
pc. See half-life 2 is going to have kick XXX multiplayer games in it so in
a couple of years Halo 2 is gonna seem like a joke. My sugestion to
microsoft would be to ship this sucker out before half-life 2 hits. But that
won't happen since HL2 will be out shortly after Halo 2 hits on the xbox.
Between Unreal 2004 and Half-Life 2, I think I can live without Halo 2 now.
I'm currently not planning on buying Halo 2 for the pc just because of the
long hold over. Why should I give microsoft my money for a game that is
gonna be 2 years out dated?

They sold a lot of copies of Halo 1 PC after 2 years, so why won't they sell
a lot of copies of Halo 2 PC after 2 years... I believe that Half Life 2
will be a fantastic game, but people will still buy other games as well. And
if Halo 2 is going to be as good as it looks, then they will sell a lot on
PC even after 2 years.

BTW. I do think they won't wait as long as they did with the first. They
know now how good the first Halo was received and people will buy Halo 2,
just because of its name. And people know that they have to buy a XBOX if
they want to play Halo 2 soon, because they already have proven that they
will wait. So they don't have to wait as long anymore. Get it... Sorry for
my bad explanation...
