| Hi !
Cossacks 2 runs "correctly" on my PC, but some times it runs slower...
Of course my PC is not the best for this game :
- AMD 1700+ XP
- 512Mo DDRAM
- GeForce4 MX 440 (64Mo)
I don't want to change my PC.
Do you think that changing the graphics board should be sufficient to
improve the performance ?

No, but removing the StarForce driver that got installed together with
Cossacks 2 might ...

| what do you mean ? which "StarForce" driver ?
how to uninstall it ? (I don't find anything about it on my system)

J'ai du mal =E0 instaler le jeu de Cossacks 2 : en fait =E7a bloque de
suite...Je ne trouve pas ce qui pose probl=E8me.
Il semblerait que tu maitrises ce jeu : peux tu m'aider stp ?
J'ai envoy=E9 sur le forum un message d'appel =E0 l'aide intitul=E9
COSSACKS 2 sur le forum fr.rec.jeux.video.strat=E9gie...je te le copie,
merci d'avance si possible de m'aider
"Le support technique m'a =E9chang=E9 les 2 CD, mais =E7a n'y change
rien....
Je vous donne la configuration de mon PC et le type de message d'erreur
:
Pentium 4, CPU 3GHz
Windows XP SP2
RAM : 1022 Mo
Carte graphique acc=E9l=E9ratrice 3D : ATI Radeon 9250AGP, 128 Mo, pilote
principal : ati2dvag.dll (29/10/2005)
Carte son : C-Media Wave Device, pilote : cmuda.sys (8/01/2004)
Version directX : 9.0c
Espace libre sur Dd : 139 Go
Je tente les installations apr=E8s avoir enlev=E9 le pare-feu et l'anti
virus, mais je retrouve tr=E8s rapidement les messages d'erreur suivants
(au choix selon les tentatives) :
* Unpack error : 12 (file : data\cash\Interf3_build.g16)
* Unpack error : 12 (file :
data\cash\Interf3_elements_background.g16)
* Unpack error : 12 (file : data\cash\Interf3_bigweapon.g16) "

Pas vraiment, en effet pas du tous, car je n'installe pas des jeux avec
du malware comme Starforce.

Seems okay - although rather minimalistic. There isn't as much of a strain
on pathfinding in Cossacks II as the terrain is generally clearer and more
focused on roads, but is on the low side.

I'd upgrade to 768 or 1GB. Cossacks II seems to want a lot of memory -
although this could be the Starforce driver the other poster mentioned.

This is also risky - should be at least a GeForce 4 TI (or in the current
age, an ATI Raedon 9000).
