We saw the trailer during the second hour of 24 tonight!
I gotta say, it looks like a really good shoot-em-up with some
terrific special effects.
I suppose it's time Ross and I get the first one and watch it.......

Yes.
The first one is rather... cartoony in its execution, but enjoyable. The
second one kicks all kinds of XXX to and fro. Yo.
Of course, you have to be able to like movies about mutants with varying
special abilities, ranging from being psychic to being able to turn your
skin to impregnable metal (Colossus).

I read you as saying you needed to get the first XMen DVD and watch it
some time. I have an extra, which is probalby worth about $1 if I
sell it. With hardly any monetary lose, I can just send it to you and
it won't go to waste.

Haven't found my extra copy, but I haven't had a chance to look for
it. I'll find it early next week when the wife and kids are out of
the house and I have time alone to do what I want. Should be able to
get the movie to you before the end of the week.
