Hey hey hey! The main reason I'm watching the updates about
Rita is because of you and your family. Plus, as far as I know,
ClayPidgeon's (Bryan) brother and his family are still in Houston.
See my other post- how close are you to Galveston?
Hell yeah I'm worried.

Hurricanes are just... SO passe. Really, you'll have to mix in a tornado
or plague of locusts to appear anywhere on the 'hot' meter in these
desensitized days.

Yeah, but Bush didn't cause this one...

Well poo! The predicted track is so far east of me know I doubt we will get
any rain, and we really need it. We have been so dry this summer. I am
just a little up the coast from Corpus Christi. The earliest predicted
track was hitting about 60-70 miles northeast of me, which would have given
us the weak side of the storm but probably some hairy weather. If it holds
true now it will just be another sunny weekend here, with maybe a little
increase in winds. The air over Texas is so dry right now that I bet it
will start starving Rita pretty good once she makes land fall. Besides that,
my "escape" would have been to Austin to stay with my daughter, and that
probably would have put me even more in Rita's way than staying here... We
have to pick up our son from the airport today. He survived a month in the
middle East to almost come home to a killer hurricane. :^) I will keep
watching it, but I seriously doubt the steering mechanism in the atmosphere
over Texas right now will allow it do much different.

Great, chunks of molten lava flying about in a hurricane. Add in some
crappy-assed science ("The heat of the lava is being absorbed by the
hurricane, it is now powering itself, and it will not diminish in
strength over land! Evacuate Canada!"), some useless sensationalism
("The President announced today two new categories for hurricane
strength, making the current hurricane a category seven.") and slap in
Jeff Goldblum muttering about chaos just moments before he is his in the
face by a blob of magma travelling at close to the speed of sound, and I
think we have the next Hollywood hit.

Gawd you dudes are such pussies. Look, all you gotta do to keep
from looking like a girly-man is to add what you are to what you say!
Like this:
You said, "Oh, and I guess... be safe and careful." So just do this:
"Oh, and I guess... be safe and careful, man." See? Looks like you're
having beers at the bar.
You guys worry too much. :oP

Np's. Want anything else? How about the Earth being moved a few
