Now, you listen to me, you not-quite-as-old-as-me man!!!!

If you are ANYWHERE near Galveston, GET THE XXXX
OUTTA THERE. *NOW!!!!*

It's "above a category 5". Let that sink in. *Above* a 5.

I'm already way ahead of you, worry-wise. :o{

At least the place probably won't get flooded, will it? Of course,
Smeghead's image of that branch sticking through the ceiling for a good
meter or so was... impressive.

Ever go through something and come out fine and then, after the fact,
things sink in and THAT'S when you get scared?

I found out afterwards that several other hunkerers in the same
neighborhood were killed due to the falling pine trees. Impaled or
crushed by the trees crushing through their homes.

Had any of us been standing where those branches penetrated... I kept
getting a mental image of my father-in-law (the tallest of us)
"standing" limp with a branch reaching into the attic space of his
house from his head.

I never fall apart until everything is taken care of. Then I go all to
hell.

Oh crap. It's not looking good for northeastern Texas, or northwest
Louisianna. This one is moving SO slow it's hard to tell where she'll land.

The macho part of me want's to say, "No. Because you have ovaries?"

But the reasonable part says, "Yes. I understand and am appreciative
of your concern."
