| I feel bad accepting things from people in the wake of the hurricane. I
have family sending money and it's greatly appreciated. But it goes
against the grain of my male sensibilities to accept handouts. But
being without employment, and the two jobs I had been courting, one in
N.O. proper and the other in Gulfport, MS, literally being washed
away... there is a time to swallow pride and gratefully accept the help
of others.
Generosity has poured in even to the Eve universe! Our own Adrian gave
me a nice chunk of ISK to assist in replacing a ship I lost trying to
destroy a bad guy.
Thanks, Adrian, mate!
I'm now the proud owner of a Minmatar Claw interceptor class frigate.
Heavily armed and fast as lightening.
Bad part is, I'm not trained to fly it yet. So I'll be training Kris,
my character, for the remainder of this month to bring her up to speed.
Once she's qualified to be behind the controls, she'll be able to run
away from the best of 'em.
It was a Claw that the player Rohann was flying when he so deftly
handed me my butt cheeks on a silver platter during the first gatecamp
TW did.

up," but carried on the following conversation anyway:

I've been flexing it all year.

Same here. 12 days to go on Evasive Maneuvering 5 and about 15 days for
Minmatar Frigate 5.
I'm hoping Interceptors skill trains to lvl 1 in a matter of minutes,
though.

You know, Gadrian sounds like a Stargate character name.

Yeah, he'd be the guy that keeps jumping through stargates and landing
on top of the other male characters, then apologizing as if it were an
accident caused by jump disorientation.

According to one of those do-it-yourself tests a lot of years ago.
I don't put all that much stock into IQ numbers, though. It's just a
guideline. I have areas of brilliance and areas of complete stupidity.
Of course, I've never discovered anything I *can't* learn. Just
lots of stuff I don't *want* to learn. ;)

I once read a good bit of advice for enhancing your percieved
intelligence. It basically said, talk about what you know and keep your
mouth shut about things you're foggy on.
I know plenty of people who like to spout on about things they have no
clue. Not exactly enhancing their percieved intellect.

Few traits humans develop drive me battier than the know-it-alls.
Especially when combined with 'oneupmanship'. I have run into so
many of them in life that I've developed my own response to their
behavior.
After suffering their presence for as long as I can bear it, I simply
state, rather emphatically, "I eat shit".
When they recover enough to ask what on earth prompted that
comment, I reply that I was *sure* they'd answer me by saying not
only do they eat *more* shit than I do, but the shit they eat was surely
of a higher quality.
Perfect cessation of an annoyance achieved.
