We're putting in a machine shop to do ultra-accurate parts for
semiconductor fab automation. There's a rail yard across the street where
automobiles are unloaded from the ships from Japan and loaded onto railcars
for the trip inland to dealers, so there's a huge amount of vibration. The
trucks hauling car carriers right outside contribute their share. So we
ripped out the old 8 inch concrete floor and put in 18 inches of concrete.
The floor was poured as a single huge slab, and then an epoxy finish floor
was put on top to give it an almost mirror-like sheen. The walls are the
highest-level level-5 sheetrock job, ultra-smooth.
