Author T:V min specs

So can anyone out there post what are the true minimum specs to run T:V?
And then to run at a decent playable level. Not concerned with any of
the eye candy just want to have the game playable.

I don't want to upgrade my PC just to play the game and have it suck. I
also don't want to buy the game and not be able to play it.

Man I hate that the Tribes series keeps switching Video Cards. 1st
Voodoo, then nVidia, now ATI.

My PC specs below.

AMD 1700
GF4 Ti4200 128 MB
512 MB RAM
Win98

I don't think they did anything special to the game for ATI cards.

Correct. ATI is simply one of their sponsors.

Aha! Found it. You were rather rude to a regular it seems. Of course, that
was a couple of OS's ago so you have a reprieve it seems. You must have
been behaving yourself as of late...

I really do wish BTi would get their XXXXing news servers fixed. I have to
rely on replies to see what Adrian's posting.

fine at 1024 x 768 on high setting.

My specs are almost exactly equal to the recommended box:

2400+ OC to 2800+
512mb PC2700
128mb Vanilla 9600

I have been playing the demo at the High settings with only minor visual
lag. When things go wide open I'll probably tone it down a little to
increase FPS.

Thanks for all the info, fellows! Looks like all I'll need is an ISP
other than this satellite in order to play on this desktop. Kewl!
Plus, the laptop I want is a bit of overkill, but OWFI. Since when
does "need" have anything to do with "want" where we geeks and
geek-wanna-be's are concerned? LOL

BTi have a long standing 'issue' with their news servers. Their servers
are simply shite. Whilst I was a web-sufferer with their pisspoor service,
they actually recomended users to use 3rd-party usenet services, while
they still charged full subscritpion fees for their 'services'. BTi then
actually upgraded their news servers... which promptly made the service
worse. They then rebranded themselves as "BT Openworld", to which I said
I'd call them by their new name when they actually *give* a service.

Read a small sample of correspondence between myself and the unfortunate
sods on BTi Support at:

Another alternative to satellite, "WiMax":

Poor bastards didn't stand a chance. Few people would, I warrant.

Not feasible here yet, dang it. Thanks for the info, though-
I continue my hunt for alternative broadband in Yuma County.

Oh damn, the cat's out of the bag now..........................

Oh wait, that was up in Scottsdale. WHEW! For a moment there,
I thought the local law enforcement had developed a collective brain.
:D

You know, the scary part of that is wondering how many large
stores are using wireless. And trying to guess how many folks
in Yuma could figure this scam out..........eek.

Now see, this is another bonus to living out in the sticks- any parked
car not belonging to a neighbor would instantly be suspicious. (The gross
dude across the street would think it was a narcmobile! LOL )
