Just saw a similar link in alt.coffee so I had to check out the stats for
this group. So far Miracle is leading as most prolific poster for October!

Also note at the bottom that you can get a "feed" of this group, which I
think is for RSS clients like the one at http://rssreader.com/.

Here we go, another "Damn those were the good ol' days threads!"

I remember when Tribes first came out. I was working at a CompUSA as a
management XXXXX, and my 2 roommates were a Marilyn Manson freak and the
lead singer of a hardcore band. I used to tie up the phone line for
hours playing Broadside on my Acer P2/266 with 64mb RAM and Rage Pro
integrated graphics.

A lot of people never noticed, but Acer had some damn fine speakers
built into their monitors at the time. The 14" monitor had crap ones,
but the 15" were clear as a bell loud enough to make the neighbors complain.

Lesson #3 learned when playing Tribes: Never put the monitor by a wall
back-to-back with the refrigerator. It will blow up the monitor after
approximately 47 days. (I went through 3 before figuring it out).

Wowzer! I made the top 10 ever. Of course, it's under my now dead
mailandnews.com account. But still, I'm prolific.

I'll have you know I'm certainly NOT typical! I was the only chick
to make it to the final three in a survival football game!

So THERE!

Plus, I rock. At fifty-two, I'm still cool enough to paint my fingernails
*purple*.

"Typical". HMPF!! How insulting......................

With glitter? I don't know 'bout fingernail polish, but since you're cool
enough to like Tribes that'd make you the coolest 52 y/o I know of.
Remember, never use a preposition to end a sentence with.
