This group was dead long before the NGE.

SWG is actually still alive even though I know that you like to think it
is not. Yes, it has been better, but I have also seen it worse.

Yes, I am a vet.

Aloha Dirk,
It isnt dead but it sure is seriously XXXXed up. Give the devs another 6
months to a year and they may get it back to a beta game and start adding
content. I just renewed for a month and the community with the exception of
just around Mos Eisley is pretty much non existant tho i was surprised to
see 2 peeps in Espa and even a couple on Kashyk. I think without a server
merge the smaller servers are just gonna die. Lottsa wierd bugs with the
combat system still.
Most noobs still make a jedi and run around wining about not being able
to use a LS and then once they can they cant find the resources to make one.
Traders and Entertainers are still being stepped on, frankly the ent buff is
practically useless and ents seem to be in the game just to have a glorified
chat room.
I used to sell resources and Loot with my Merchant but it isnt worth it
anymore. I will be cancelling again and waiting another few months b4 i
check it out again. As an ex mayor i hope all those empty houses go poof
asap now that maintenence is turned back on to make room for new
players/cities, all the best locations are taken by folks who dropped houses
years ago. Unfortunately many of them like me put years worth of maint on
their houses. I packed mine up when i cancelled and they have enough maint
for about 5 years lol. I stripped my second account and will prob never
reactivate it, there is no reason now that i can have 3 toons on my Elder
Jedi account.
This group seems to have short spurts of activity whenever something
cool or XXXXed up happens in SWG so i check it out every few days. I only
write stuff occasionally though since any opinion expressed seems to be
flame fodder I am still hoping for either a fixed game in SWG or a new
game to come out and remove my adddiction to SWG.
And last but not least, I still think fanbois suck and have been the
ruin of this game. Starwarsy, Iconic and NGE are my new swear words. (Flame
on lol) Fanbois, SOE and LA can go NGE themselves and stuff their starwarsy
NGE up their NGEing Iconic NGE.

Well Dirk you know i am fairly new to SWG and yeah i'd be lying if i said
the servers were pumping or that this game wasnt bugged BUT what i will say
is for the things SOE has done right be thankful. I am a WoW vet and i can
tell you know blizzard has made just as many gaming f**king changes SOE has
the WoW i started is a shell filled with nerf after nerf after nerf

and i am now in a friendly guild on Tempest and we have our own ts server
and all is good and i am enjoying becoming a master pilot and even getting
into ground combat now.

but the gist of my post is NGE may be shit but the grass is not greener on
the other side trust me.

Im a launch vet, used to see 20+ friends online all the time, and even more
on my bh alt that were just jedi names when i wanted a hunt, no clue what
server you play on Ray but i have NEVER seen bria this dead ever, pre or
post cu, as now post nge even with all the new feel good noobie content.
ONLY thing they did good was leave jtl out of all their upgrading, and even
then they had to put that lockstep advancement crap there also....

I gave my account up last November i was a full template jedi, but i'd
go back as a BH. I have 6 months rent payed on my houses before i left.
I want the player bounties to come back i hear they might be ???.....

I'm playing WoW now on dragonblight same name as my SWG toon. I like
WoW but i do miss the Star Wars theme which is why i played it in the
first place. I check this forum every day for news and see what people
are talking about.

I might log onto my account in 5 months time for a month and see whats
happened, do you just recreate you raccount with the same station name
and password ???

I'm not a launch vet, only September '03, but I've not cancelled any of my 3
real accounts (so far), only accounts that I'd inherited from friends that
left the game. The temptation is strong to cancel my Trader account, if
only because it's really not practical to make much of anything any more. I
do still enjoy reverse engineering space loot though, so that may not
happen.

I've been a lurker and occasional poster here in the newsgroup for probably
2 years or so now. When there are people online to talk to in my guild,
it's still a lot of fun. When there's no one else on, it's much less fun
and I don't tend to log on or stay on as much as I used to. The new
increase in XP for leveling characters though may make me play some more
since I can see improvement in my XP bar in a reasonable amount of time.

Ironically, I've gone back to what I'd been doing before starting to play
SWG... Tabletop role-playing and single player games. I've never been a
MMO fan, I only joined SWG for the SW. I can see improvements with every
fix, but as others have said many places, it's really just returning the
game closer to where it was before the NGE.

Population seems to fluctuate, there are times Lowca's almost completely
dead, and other times it's hopping. It's usually around a middling activity
level.

Thanks

Lowca Galaxy
