Has anyone noticed any issues at all with lag either server related or
graphics related?

quit being sarcastic.

i quit noticing lag when i was forced to buy a new power supply for my
computer cuz the old one died on me.
my fps dips down to about 7-10 in some areas but gets back up to 20-30 after
being there a few seconds

Actually no.

Haven't seen a client crash or a lag situation in at least 6 months. And
that is not being sarcastic.

hmm ok. i wonder if they upped the graphics requirements for the game
and/or lessened software-side support somehow?

Well, since everyone now gets JTL, the memory requirements have at least
been upped to 512MB. Not that SWG was ever playable on 256, but still.

Dunno about the graphics requirements, but with the new features like
heat shimmer etc. it would not surprise me.

How do things work if you turn off all the fancy features?

The game got more laggy starting with the CU (probably because of all the
gaudy EQ2/WOW particle spell effects). I think the software also starting
fighting with itself because the CU wasn't really compatible with SWG's
engine. Line-Of-Sight became an issue, and worked poorly because it needed
collision detection. The endless LOS bugs were one reason that Battle
Fatigue got pulled out of the game, when people couldn't watch/listen to
Entertainers for healing. Ah, the incredible slipping deadline: we were told
that collision detection was 6 months out *when the CU launched*.

The game got even more laggy with the NGE. Remember that ALL of the old code
is still there, right back to the beginning. My guess is that NGE is even
less compatible than the CU was.
