| Yep, its getting pretty sparse here. Even on Bria, which is really amazing.
I'm hoping that over time the userbase will build back up with new people.
I guess many of the vets are just fed up with the lack of Customer Service
from SOE, the whole way the NGE was implemented was really shitty IMO.
I really hope this game can be turned around, time will tell.
I actually am in the minority, I like the NGE. Yes, there are issues, bugs,
no collision detection yet, etc. But I like the style of gameplay better
than the old system. If they manage to get the bugs worked out and
collision detection implemented before the game DOA's, I think it could be
very good.
If not, well, RIP SWG then. Right now, the only goods available on most
vendors are pre-NGE items, crafters really took it in the shorts with this
"upgrade". I can only hope that with the overwhelmingly negative feedback
on this issue that something will change.

Do you really think that you should be PAYING them to test this?
Its crazy! What else could you be doing with that $15 a month? They want
us to tell them what all the bugs are, tell them what new content we want
and they want us to PAY them to do it. Have you seen Smedleys latest letter
to they comunity? You cant finish any quests and they have ALREADY nerfed
xp, so we are in a loose - loose situation. The only thing that just about
everyone want is a pre-cu server . . . and they said they would not do that.
Oh well!

I stopped reading Smedley's crap after he stated in an interview
"blahblahblah...I started MANY threads myself (on the swg boards)...blah".
Go and check his forum account!
ONE lousy posting. And that one was when the CU (the first nerf) was about
to hit.

It's possible, yes. Unfortunately SOE with their less than perfect customer
service, added to the fact that most people feel that they were deliberately
deceived with the NGE and ToOW, it's very possible that the game will not
recover quickly enough with new subscriptions to keep it a viable business
entity.
I hope this isn't true, I have played and loved this game through thick and
thin, mainly because it's the only Star Wars option for MMO's.
If Star Trek online comes out and is a decent game, I may switch to that
instead of SWG. That is of course if SWG is even still around in '07.
Many of my friends are playing WoW, EQ2, and quite a few of them have signed
up for Dark and Light, which looks very promising, so there are options for
me, even though the Fantasy genre isn't really my cup of tea.

I hope it does - as a lesson to other companies. Contempt for customers in
MMOG seems to be the rule rather than the exception, and we are long overdue
the customers showing them who the real bosses are... (Mr Visa and Mr
Mastercard). It is pathetic that even now if you view the forums you still
have fanbois lining up, staunchly defending SOE in one breath, yet pleading
for a playable game in the next. Some people have no dignity at all and it
is embarrassing to watch.

I see a lot more trolling by the folks upset over the NGE than I do folks
defending it. I wonder why they don't let Mr. Visa or Mr. Mastercard do
their talking for them? It's not like paying to troll a forum is going to
do anything other than give the moderators something to do.

A lot of them have quit - but they are paid up in advance and at the moment
trolling the forums is more fun than trying to play a broken game.
The NGE is so recent, even a lot of people who paid monthly and who
cancelled on day one still have subscription time left. Then you have the
poor suckers who paid up 6 or 12 months in advance.

Most of the posters on the SWG forums aren't very good at trolling so if
that's more fun than playing what's left of the game they weren't doing
very well to start with. ;-)
Since the NGE I have noticed how much more fun PvP is. That and hunting
stuff on Yavin4/Dathomir/Dantooine is about all there is left to do
anymore.
As there is no penalty to getting killed other than a trip to/from a
cloning facility, it's rather fun to go Rebel SF and wander into Bestine
with gun blazing.

Paying that far in advance is ludicrious! I would NEVER do that. I
learned my lesson when I bought that year's worth of Oil changes for
my car.... then I got a new job in another town. No refunds!!
Stupid is as stupid does.

Oh NO!!! I wasn't talking about you!!!! I was refering to me!!!!
And I agree with you. Crafting in SWG was the best system in the whole
game!!! Probably the best crafting ever developed in the history
(albeit short) of MMO's!!!
EQ2 had a good system but it over did it with the interdependency
between each of the trades. Got to a point eventually where you
couldn't make anything without several visits to other tradesmen.
