First impressions CU2....

| Been playing the new upgrade this evening and converted my lowbie cl17 to a
cl17 Spy. Here are my initial impressions...
i. Lag, lag, lag.... Did I Say LAG? Yup, it is extremely laggy
especially if you ride a fast vehicle. I found that when I went to ride some
where, I would periodically end up further away(!). Once or twice it is
annoying, but when you pass the same piece of terrain more than 8 times you
start to get pissed...
ii. Combat. On the whole seems alright. It is very simplistic
and very quick. For solo missions (at least the ones I did) its a no no.
Before the patch I could heal myself in combat with bacta which meant that
if I were fighting two lvl 15 NPC's it would be hard work but almost always
doable. My poor spy char can no longer heal himself so vs 2 x lvl 15's =
instant incap. Two incaps within 2.5 mins and you die. Luckily this is shown
as a buff under the ham bars. If I can't solo missions, I'll be leaving
pretty soon....
iii. Ctrl-Up Arrow key no longer works in chat pane to recover
previous text. BIG pain if you decide to move furniture around as you are
going to have to manually type every command.
iv. Alt keys not working for me to release mouse. I end up
having to use the <escp> key.
v. Speed. You now default to running rather than walking. The
run is so fast that it looks very comical. Even those slow moving two legged
box like droids now pelt about at speed. Highly hilarious, but also highly
off putting... In fact it seems to me that some coder simply upped the
frequency of updates on all animations which is why everything looks like a
movie on fast forward - including subtle character movements. I'm guessing
this speed hack is the prime cause of the lag mentioned in i above.
vi. Where did my stats go? It seems respecced chars don't get
given stats.... (All mine are zero)
My overall impression is that the game has been dumbed down to the nth level
and has been coerced rather unsuccessfully into doing stuff it was never
designed to do. I haven't mentioned the fact that a lot of my equipment is
useless and will have to be sold. Or the fact that if you are not a crafter
the default items you can craft is food only... Overall, I don't like what I
see at all. I will stay with it for a month, but suspect I will be waving
goodbye to Star Wars for good....

| At least as a Jedi,we knew that there would be a Million & 1 Jedi on the
server yesterday. What I wasn't prepared for was for almost everyone on the
server to be a Master Politician.
I know it sounds stupid since "Politician's not work, you can't even grind
it." But do you know how long it takes to level Politician in a mostly dead
city? Getting votes was hard. Finally, I make 3442 Politician, and all 5
of the other characters I have on Lowca are Master Politicians, never even
trained or wanted Novice Poli for them.
I think I'm more upset about that than anything else at this point, even the
[even more] broken Vendor INterface for merchants.
Thanks

Lowca Galaxy

Nice analysis. Our whole guild of 55 members quit as well. We cleared out
all the structures of our city to open it up for new subscribers. We have
since moved onto WOW and enjoying it immensely.

| I've just got my 2 year vet reward....i chose the hologram of the
deathstar....then i have tried for the passed couple of days to get
used to the NGE but after 2 years i have pressed the cancel button on
my account and it ends on the 20th Nov. 8-(
I have tried to stay with it with an open mind...but alas the game for
me is dead. WOW is not an option i have seen guys at my work play this
and it doesn't interest me. I'll sign up next year if it's out for Star
Trek mmorpg and see where that takes me......."warp factor 6 Mr Sulu!"
