If you have been a part of Ahazi for any length of time you should know
csr-jonw. Csr-jonw, the beast csrt ever, was fired due to a "Reduction In
Staff." Do you think that SOE had to reduce the staff because the CU was a
huge, overwhelming success? Or the other? LOL

Also, JonW had this to say, "I wouldn't count on getting a ticket answered
correctly inside of a week anymore, if ever. There were over 3000 when I
left last nite." To everyone who thinks that the game is improved now . .
..you really are kidding yourselfs.

They should do what they did in EQ and have volunteer player mods instead of
staff doing it all anyhow.

EQ never had that problem, Guides's where given only limited "power" when
first given the position. Once they prooved they were trust worthy they were
slowly given more abilities within the game and eventually given an actual
GM position (which had more advantages like free play etc). Also the
application was fairly extensive (a huge questionaire) you had to *proove*
you had vast knowledge of the game and all of the game zones before they
would even consider you for the position. It worked too because in *most*
cases (at least everytime i put in a ticket) it only took about 2 hours for
someone to get in to contact with you about whatever problem you were having
at the time.

Voulenteers leave them open to the horrors of the early days of UO
(Ultima Online for the younguns in the crowd)

They made extensive use of volunteer AND moderatly compensated (Free
Play) GM's who ended up doing major favors for their friends who wound
up selling game materiasl (gold) in eBay.

Volunteers is a sweet idea....... but remamber what flocks to sweets
too!!

I work for Qwest. Local monopoly phone company for 14 states. They are
always laying off even when business is "good" it makes them look like they
are "streamlining" and it boosts their stock even if service is hurt from
being understaffed. When you get into the real world you were learn all
businedd projects get good staffing that the start then they try to trim it
to a permanent skeleton crew as the years pass. That is how big businesses
like sony work. I know you either have never worked for a giant company or
are too young to have a job but that is how most all big corps work. Tis the
way of business good or bad. So It may mean they are losing money, but even
if they are gaining money they will still lay people off like that. So that
example really shows us nothing. SOE is a subdivision of a publicly traded
companyyou can easily view quarterly money progress that they are required
to disclose. Also remember that anything that hurts the parent company hurts
all of sony. They need money to puck up for the new MMO's they are getting.
DVD sales on a top movie are way less than expected. They lose a major
singer to a rival company. All those random things have great potantial to
hurt how much money they give to SWG. Bigger picture. Soney's heal does not
= SWG, SWG is a very small part of a very big company.

How do you know he wasn't fired for cause, but they disguised it as a
layoff?
