OMG! I just saw the SWG commercial on G4TV . . .what a crock of shit!

I wonder if they are starting to advertise on TV because they are getting
desperate?

They never had to do that before . .hehe

Wouldnt advertising on TV means thier doing well? I mean TV advertising is
expensive thus means thier making a profit.... just getting u to think
positive!

For a corporation, like SOE, advertising on TV is a drop in the bucket.
They are desparate. The game is two years old. If they are adverting on TV,
they are hard up.

Wake up!

There is no such thing as false advertising. It's just a concept
somebody dreamed up to make people think they have a way to fight back
against corporate deciet.

Tell me..... What are the "penalties" for "False Advertising"? You
ever seen a business man convicted for "False Advertising"??

SOE is bragging that the population of the galaxies have gone up with the
release of the "total" package thingy. Is that after it bottomed out after
the CU?

Its amazing how we have all taken so much crap from SOE . .just cuz it says
"Star Wars."

na woth episode 3 being big they can maximise effect to advertise it now.
Logistics of marketing

I never thought of it as taking crap. If I thought they were feeding me
crap...I'd leave. Odd that on forums I see complaining but most everyone I
meet in game loves the CU upgrade. I gues those that like it play and those
that don't XXXXX on internet forums.

Nope. They didnt need to advertise before . . .it was a better game. Now,
Its a crappy game and they need to fork over some cash to get people to play
their game

Speak for yourself: my account closes today. They've had 2 solid months to
make this change worth my time and money, and screwed up left right and
center. The devs wiped out medical XP for wound healing (in practice if not
in theory), they KNOW how much trouble that is causing for everybody in the
game, but they wont rethink their "perfect plan". They KNOW they have
totally screwed over noncombatants, but they absolutely refuse to return to
mobs having defined stats instead of "levels and skins". If they don't
manage to kill this game completely over the summer, maybe I'll reactivate
in September to see if they've managed to extract their heads from their
a$$es.

I think they know their plan is not perfect but just something I have
nothiced from game companies and you trying again in september....I have
done that on games. The people that run the game always run it the same.
Unless there is some big company tak over it will always be bad and they
will never make decisions to your liking. I personally have been OK with the
progression of SWG but ig you are not I by no means support staying in a
game you hate. This is your entertainment time and if you are an adult or
worse an adult with a family you get precious little uninterrupted fun time
to yourself and if you feel SOE is burning you then stop paying them and
stop KILLING YOUR PERSONAL EJOYMENT by staying. I would not stay if I felt
like that. I also know that that guys getting paid million...the executives
that run it don't give a care at all about my complaints or the complaints
of the users even if a larg amount so I would not expect it to change.

SWG is holding steady at around 250k accounts (http://www.mmogchart.com/).
They peaked at around 300k after launch, and they've managed to hold on to
most of those. That's way more than CoH, around the same as DAOC and UO at
their peaks, and just slightly less than EQ2.

BTW, what's the most popular MMORPG in the world? Linneage II, with just
over 2 million accounts. (How many here have tried that one?)

Same about of time that liniage has been out untill now, you put that time
in SWG and it hadn't had one either.

As i stated in another thread and can even see slightly in the link you
sent there is the start of a downward trend in players if the link is at all
accurate (how do i know who is feeding him his numbers?). lottsa folks who
have dumped their accounts wont be seen as cancelled till their time runs
out in 3 - 6 months, the only cancelations you would see right away are the
month to month peeps. I will cross my fingers and hope that in 6 months
there is still a game to play. Also i have had several old Guildmates come
back for a month to check it out, get so frustrated and pissed they
cancelled again. On the bright side other guild mates seem willing to
struggle thru with only minimal ranting and raving, lol.
I have some guild mates that really enjoy the wookie expansion and
others that hate it and regret buying it. I personally wont spend another
dime on any SWG expansions till they fix the current bugs, and i doubt i
will ever reactivate my second account.
I bought JTL but found grinding space exp kinda boring but thats just me
lots of other love it, i like JTL just for the fact i don't need to planet
hop anymore to get places, going straight from Tattoine to Dathomir is much
better/faster in your own ship.
The city bugs are all still there like before the CU and as far as i can
see every profession has skills that do nothing and lottsa new bugs. Dontcha
just love the bug that randomly picks an auto attack from your quick keys,
took me 4 days to figure out why i kept kneeling between every attack.
The best thing about Noobs is they dont know what they are missing and
enjoy the game for what it is, sometimes i wish i had their perspective.
