Another D2X-xl question
|
|
|
| I tried to start a udp/ip netgame using the tracker
and got a message indicating that I need to select
at least two players(?) to start a netgame.
Am I doing something wrong here?

| You probably wanted to jump into the game after having set it up as
game host, didn't you?
That message is only a warning, telling you that it might not make much
sense to start a multiplayer game and being the only player taking
part.
It's kind of historic though - afaik in the original Descent you
couldn't even start the game when you were the only player, but had to
wait for at least another one.
As in open games more players can always join in later, this never made
that much sense to me, at least in well designed levels with enough
weapons for everybody, were being there first wouldn't give you an
edge.
So you can safely ignore this message.

Thanks for the reply
I am trying to host co-op games and see if I can drum up any interest.
If the PlanetDescent forums are still active maybe I'll post over there
too. (I've been away from the Descent scene for around five years)
