Descent version confusion
|
|
|
| Right, since karx11erx nicely revived D2 I'm currently trying to get an
overview on what versions exist. I'm not too sure so please correct me and
add your knowledge:
Descent 1
=========
1.5
Original version for DOS
D1 3DFX
Enhanced Grafx
D1X 1.40
Enhanced DOS version, runs unter XP
Descent 2
=========
1.2 Original version for DOS
1.2 Descent for Win95
1.2 D2 3DFX
D2X-XL 1.5.44
Open GL Version

karx11erx is correct.
I have tried both of them on various Mandrake/Mandriva
versions.
D1x Linux works well. My daughter & I have played
many coop games using it... what a blast!
D2x Linux is barely usable for me.
I've been having a great time with D2x-xl on Linux.

I know we've butted heads in the past, but I'm dying for you to get
the Descendarium back up. =)

Downloadable binaries of D2X are heavily outdated I admit.
But current CVS is fine! No version numbering here
which might confuse Moon ;-)
We're using this for a very long time now:
