Gentlemen:

I have checked this news group from year to year to see what was going on. I
had to stop playing Descent on my old computer, it just couldn't keep up
with the graphics. But that was 8 years ago?

I started to miss Descent after playing Halo for the last year, and looking
at the crop of games available at the local store. It makes me sad how
pitiful the selection is now days. After playing Doom III half way through
I took it off my computer and threw it away - to weird for me. I tried
playing Breed, didn't like being called a dumb-XXX for getting all my crew
killed. Then their is Call of Duty, you have to really get into it to be
any good, I keep getting killed. I'll get into another day. I want to
purchase half-life, but $55.00 is a bit much. I'm waiting for Halo 2.

I started to remiss the old Descent game, I love the flying around in the
spaces it offers. So I dropped by last month and saw a patch for WIN XP and
started to play D2 again. What fun! Makes me sad for the current crop of
games on the market. Went through D2 then Vertigo. However, I am missing
something.

I've been expecting to play a level where their are these little men in
robes walking around that you are not suppose to shoot on the way to killing
everything else. And there was this level where you were inside caves and
then outside in this mountain range, where you blew up this space ship in
the end. (A demo was available on this level.) Then there was a couple
other levels I remember playing that I have not come across. Is their a D
III that I no longer have? I've searched everything I have, must have
loaned it out and it never came back. Boy, I hate that.

I've seen too much good software loose support and disappear from the
market.

Bill
