Actually I finally got it to work by using the second CD drive on my
machine.
Everything works great now . . . except for my mouse. For some reason
I can't assign pitch to my mouse directions. I click on the pitch I
want, slid my mouse a few times in the direction I wanted, but it
didn't take the assignment. But this is minor as I can assign the
pitch back to keys on my keyboard.
I must say, even after several years, this game still rocks! ; )
BTW, I thank Mr. Moon for his website. I've used it a lot when I have
been stumped.

It may sound too obvious but have you checked that the mouse is enabled in
Config?
