Now now, Moon, ol' buddy, remember your blood pressure... :-)
Sounds like Gary is not too 'net literate, be gentle.
Gary, try this one - http://tinyurl.com/2jdjh

tells all, though he is somewhat impatient so you need to address him

| Worked when I took off the "www"
How ever there was no help there. I am having the same problem as SG asked
for help on.
From: "SG" <serge.gostoli@free.fr>
Newsgroups: alt.games.descent
Subject: D3 on XP => Invalid CDROM
Date: Fri, 14 Mar 2003 22:36:16 +0100
Moon, in your case, when I loaded D3 and launched 'play' it gives me an
error "Invalid CDROM" and closes the program.
And, GOSH!!!, if you can take the time NOT to be such a arrogant smartass,
and you know, please tell me what to do to fix it.
If you don't please save the bandwidth for someone who dose.
Thanks.

| Are you using a pirated copy? If so, you may need the nocd crack to
bypass the cd check or do a full install and use thge nocd.

| Thanks for answering, no it is not a pirated copy.
After reading all of the FAQs I could find, I think I have something set
incorrectly in XP. Just can't figure what!???

| Not sure if you did this exactly, might want to give it a try.
1) Install D3 fresh
2) Start D3 once and create a pilot.
3) D/L and install 1.4 patch
4) Start D3 once
5) Apply NOCD crack.
TRy game.

| Turn off the sound by doing this.
In the launch menu.
Click SETUP
Then click the MISC tab
In the COMMAND LINE area, enter the following
-nointro -nomusic -usesmoothing -nopentium3 -nomotionblur -framecap 0
-nooutragelogo -nosound
All on 1 line. See if this helps, if it does, then we know it's a
sound problem. If not, then it might be a video problem

| GOT IT!!!
Went to HotBot.com did an advanced search for NOCD with Descent 3.
Downloaded d3_us_14.zip.
No command line switches needed.
Was having a weird game crashing thing for a little bit, reloaded
IntelliPoint and disabled the mouse in the game, all seems to be fine.
Thanks again Fusion.
