Cannot Get D3 To Run

I have just re-installed D3 and applied patch 4 but on trying to run
the game my PC crashes.
It is a 3.0GHz Prescott, 2 GB ram, Radeon 128 Pro graphics card running
XP Pro.
Are there any diagnostics I can run to try and find what the problem
is?
There are no error messages, the PC just locks up. I have tried both
Direct X and Open GL but the result is the same.

Just a follow up, I found a different version of patch 4 and I am in
business :-)

| have you tried running the game using different display settings? When I run
D3 using the highest display settings with highest details it crashes.

When exactly does it crash. It may make a difference.
I remember having to disable the opening movie to prevent
a crash. I do not remenber where the setting is, but it
wasn't too hard to find. Maybe it was a command line switch.

add -nointro to the 'command parameters' section of the D3 launcher
setup applet.
