I love watching these. I think they even have one going back to 1984
showing off a very early Apache simulation for the Army.

How about this for a bout of nostalgia...

"Some day, all computer graphics will look like this".
The cover picture came from a professional simulator manufactured in the
UK by Rediffusion, in 1984.

| Back then, I was all about Mac Hellcats and the original GEnie Air
Warrior.
The mind is an amazing organ. I have memories of immersion levels which
still standout in Air Warrior camps that were, and still are, at a very
high level for me personally.
But that's just me...

Ahhh... AirWarrior....
No, there was nothing like spending 1/2 an hour driving
over to the enemy airfield in a T 34, or Flakvierling
just to vulch the other team's aircraft as they were taking
off and landing. And getting into a ground battle at their
own airfield. after they got wind of it.
The air combat was fun, B 17's were almost too tough to
go after by yourself, tho chasing a B 17 down while in an
gun nose A 26 and and killing the '17 was great.
But the fun of sitting at the enemy airfield and picking
off P 51's (RunStangs...) with the tanks main gun ??
Priceless !!
Battlefield 2 comes close, in that it is great fun in
downing enemy helo's and A/C with an M1, or a T 80......
(tho it's MUCH more fun hammering infantry with an LAV 25)
On a bad day, I will jump into a B 25, or A 20 in
Forgotten Battles (over at HL) at an home airfield under
attack and use the turret gun position to bang away
at the enemy. Gotten a few kills that way
Just reminds me of the AirWarrior days.
Which taught me that I am an incurable vulcher, always have
been, always will be. Shame that many servers at HL frown
upon vulching. Considering that it was not only allowed,
but encouraged in real life. What are they afraid of....
