try to install older nvidia drivers, the new ones make problems sometimes.
Don`t OC your GFX card, that causes flickering.

It's simply not apparently a priority to them.

Nvidia hasn't solved the problem for them with a driver kludge
though apparently they did try to ditch the issue there some time
ago.

So the answer to your question upon checking several months ago .....
is NO, which is what you will find out over there.

Of course, even more problematic from a gameplay standpoint
is the AI is badly dicked, including refuling.

But I guess you can now fly multiplayer without crashing if
you are one of the 10% who use it that way.

The more things change, the more the remain the same, aka ....
did Microprose arise from the dead and nobody announced it?

Ironically, it appears they are working on an AF patch 1.08, if you're
superstitious.

I do not own F4-AF, however, was flying a different version yesterday,
and jaggies and shimmering have ALWAYS been a problem for me. So I was
messing around with my graphic settings. Normally, with D3D T&L Hal, I
get this:

But when I changed it to just D3D, I get this:

This took away my jaggies and shimmering. Dont know if this will work
for you, but you can try. Don't know which drivers I have, as I am at
work, but I havn't changed em since I installed my Nvidia 6600 early
last year.

Have you tried playing with the two mipmapping checkboxes in graphics setup
in Falcon? That was the change in version 1.06 that was supposed to help.
Also, I guess you know that 1.07 is the latest patch?

I have a 6600GT running at 1600x1200x32 Forceware 84.21 and I don't have
shimmer issues, I don't recall having to change anything, my MIP options
currently are off.

Try upgrading to patch 1.0.7 -- that should solve a good deal of the
shimmering.

1.0.8 is not far away now either, so stay tuned.
