Author Debug error in XP

Trying to run EF Typhoon in XP and I get an error message:

"Debugger detected - please close it down and restart!

Any ideas?
I guess it may be one of the 100 or so 'services' you can turn on or
off, but having read the descriptions I am none the wiser!
