Is there one out there? A decent one? Ships shooting down planes, missles,
shooting at each other, subs, etc? Launching Alpha strikes and cruise missles at
land targets.Thanks.

try: comp.sys.ibm.pc.games.naval for naval info. For an all- encompassing
naval simulation, you could buy Dangerous Watera- I got mine via Steam, then
sent for the phone book sized manual. I will never have enough time to play
it all!

I mean "Dangerous Waters"!

Try "Sub Command". For years I wanted engrossing sims - now I never
have time for them. Maybe you do.

You really cannot go wrong with Silent Hunter 3.

As long as you don't mind StarForce CP.
There are work arounds for that though, with SHII.

I hear the missiles and alpha-strikes of SHIII aren't historically
accurate.

It has Subs and planes ;) Just a suggestion as it's a wonderful sim and
should be tried by anyone looking for a subsim. Take it or leave it ;)

It was a joke because the OP was asking for a modern naval sim and SHIII
was suggested.

Yea, I love launching the Tomahawk cruise missile from onboard the subs
in SHIII. How did the germans ever lose the war with such advanced
technology?

The ION CANNON THAT EVAPORATES ENTIRE OCEANS is a good weapon as well.....

Yea, I think there is an alien living onboard my sub in SHIII. I'm going
to eject it out of the aft torpedo tube.
