| Should I upgrade to Flaming Cliffs? The improvements look intriguing but
if I upgrade I'd have to deal with STARFORCE. I hate starforce.
So is the upgrade worth the hassle of the stupid SF CD check?

| Yes. it is.
The CD version checks for CD when you launch the sim.
I read the upcoming LOMAC FC patch (V1.11 I think) will reduce the Starforce
check to once a week.

You don't get any extra gameplay, but you do get the best (probably)
flight model available to us. It's just a shame ED added it to two such
dull aircraft!
That's not entirely fair. The Su-25T is a challenging aircraft to fight
in. The weight distribution modelling, flight model, new weapons, and
autopilot modes make it a tough, but rewarding (ok, and sometimes
frustrating) beast to fly.
But I yearn for that modelling on the Flanker, which looks very unlikely
to ever happen. <sigh>

Yes !
Get the boxed set and there is no online activation.
And from what I can tell, LOMAC and FC take less
resources than IL 2 does. ie; it is happy as long as
it gets 500mb + plus of available ram to run in.
(vs IL 2 which needs 784mb to run smooth.)
After just cleaning up my system, I am now getting
40fps low level with wingman, and 15 - 30 fps
low level attack on ground targets with same wingman
with TV or LLTV on
