European Air War graphics problem
|
|
|
| After a number of years on the shelf I loaded EAW with its patch on my fast
WinXP2 P4 with a Matrox Parhelia board.
It works OK except the default forward view is broken up, stripes at the top
and patches of big pixels. All other views are Ok but going back to the
normal forward view (that is used most) has this problem.
Any ideas?

| I had a similar problem with Jane's USAF from my bumping up Anisotropic and
Antialiasing settings on my (not so spiffy) GeForce FX5200 card (recommended by
someone for enhancing dgVoodoo for RB3D) rather than leaving them in the default
"set by application" setting.
Apparently, the older sims don't know what to do with this new stuff and results can
be graphical anomalies.
You might check it out, anyway.

| I found a fix that works for me. I went into the EAW.ini file and changed
the screen resolution from the default 640X480 to the same as my windows
setting 1024X768 and now everything looks great.

I guess EAW and I have both been in the closet too long because I don't
understand any of the three lines you wrote.
A "google"? and what is "great shot"?

A "google" ? No offense, but that closet must have been buried deep into
the caverns of Tora Bora or something. Either that or you have just been
released from Gitmo ;) Welcome back.
"Have a google for eawcontrol" translates to
1. point your web browser (NCSA Mosaic or better ;)) to www.google.com,
the most popular search engine this side of the solar system - if you
are still using Lycos, Altavista or Gopher, you are missing something.
2. type "eawcontrol" (or "eaw control") in the box and click the search
button.
3. explore the links returned by the search engine
Now I admit that I had to read the part about "great shot" twice to
understand what James meant, but the above recipe works just as well:
ask for "great shots" (or "great shots upgrade") to the google search
engine and you will hopefully find out what it is about.

Mr. Sylvestre
