Where to sell a selfmade game online ?
|
|
|
| I've made a light helicoptersim as a hobby-project, and would like to try to
sell it online. Anyone know any online publishers who might be interested ?
I've emailed Trygames, but got no response. It is obviously a low-budget (or
no-budget) game, but I think it's quite fun.
There are some screenshots and a demo at this location if anyone want to try
it out:

Not having much luck with my joystick so far, so I can't really say
too much about it, but it looks like a great little project. Well
done.
I don't really have any suggestions about selling it though. A
Paypal button on the download page might be easiest, but whether
anyone would use it at this stage is difficult to say.
Whatever happens, this ought to be a nice little advert for your
skills if you ever need a programming job.

| Reminds me a lot of Apache and Hind! Not to mention the great Tornado.

Thanks for the responses. I'll contact tucows and garagegames and see if
they're interested.

Nice work! I know you wont take any offense when I say at this point it's
never going to be a full-price, box the size of a packing crate title, but
there seems to be a market for low priced CD games that sit on rotating
racks in supermarkets, petrol stations, etc. Mostly they're £5-£10. Can't
recall who any of the publishers are but a little research might turn up a
few leads. They may well buy it for a fixed price, or offer a percentage
from sales. (Unless you've a lawyer to scrutinise their sales accounts I'd
have thought the fixed price is probably the best option.) I did that with
the only game I ever sold (about 20 years ago now for an old 8-bit
computer.)
