AVSIM Online Announces 2005 Convention and Exhibition

AVSIM Online, the premier online resource for flight simulation enthusiasts
worldwide announces the 2005 Flight Simulation Conference and Exhibition.
AVSIM's annual event will be held this year in San Diego, California over
the weekend of September 16th, 17th and 18th. The venue for this year's
gathering of flight simulation enthusiasts will be the world famous San
Diego Aerospace Museum, located in Balboa Park, San Diego.

The annual event is a gathering of hobbyists, professionals, manufacturers
and others interested in the world of aviation simulation. During the two
days and three nights of the event, papers are presented dealing with
developments in the hobby, future simulation technologies, instructional
sessions on aircraft and scenery design, as well as "how to" on everything
from navigation to online Air Traffic Control. Exhibitors will showcase
their latest products including hardware and software for both the hobbyist
and the professional. In partnership with The Barnstormers, flight time in
war birds, classic aircraft and mock air combat will take place, providing
attendees the opportunity to experience actual flight in historic aircraft.
On Saturday evening, the 17th, during a banquet to be held at the San Diego
Aerospace Museum, proceeded by an address by this year's Key Note Speaker,
the staff of AVSIM will present its annual awards for development in the
hobby in a variety of categories, ranging from commercial development to
free online services.

This year's Key Note Speaker will be Captain Suzanna Darcy-Hennemann, Senior
Test Pilot, Flight Test, Boeing Commercial Airplane Group. Darcy-Hennemann
became the 777-200LR project pilot for Boeing Commercial Airplanes in 2004.
She participated in the 200LR engineering-design meetings. She watched the
first model, that 001 airplane, progress through factory assembly. This
University of Washington engineering graduate continues to lead the way as
the first woman to join the elite Boeing Engineering Flight Test group,
which is responsible for designing and testing new airplanes and new
innovations or capabilities before they are added to Boeing commercial
airplanes. As an experimental test pilot on the Boeing 777, Darcy-Hennemann
is an integral member of the airplane program, contributing to the design,
testing and certification of the 777, new derivatives and added features or
capabilities.

The AVSIM Convention and Exhibition is the largest event of its kind in the
U.S. and is attended by simulation enthusiasts from around the world with
attendees coming Australia, Japan, Venezuela and Europe. Past year's events
have been held in Denver at the United Airline Training Center, the
Mid-Atlantic Air Museum in Reading, Pennsylvania and Lake Tahoe in
conjunction with the Reno Air Races.
