Thanks for that - grabbing now!

Some posts at Ubi mentioned there may also be a mini-patch for all
those that (mistakenly) downloaded the 4.00 patch. Anyone seen that?

I don't think it's a step back from 4.00 at all.

Hehe ... 'cos I'm *psychic*. I meant "don't think" more literally
(grammatically) - in the sense that I wasn't actually sure. Point
taken though - I was going by posts at UBI prior to its release (that
4.00 > 4.01 was meant to be just a bug fix or two - mainly to the
multiplayer/server modules).

I haven't tracked the resopnse (yet) to 4.01, so can't say whether
this is a reality.

Interesting. Falcon just keeps getting easier and easier.
And IL2 is going the exact other way sometimes..............

I am hoping that the new 4.01 does tone down the FM changes.
I wasn't really happy with that. And the uber Mg 151's
(uber Russian is OK to me, I only fly as allies <G> )

was 141Mb not 44 as originally stated on PF site. I clicked on the .exe,

it installed in a few minutes and the previous v3.04m opened as v4.01m.

No drama, no opera, just the new stuff. Out.

Thanks, I meant can anyone post the full install steps.

IL2 Forgotten Battles --> Ace Expansion Pack ---> Pacific Fighters ( merged
install) ---> Patch 3.03M ---> Patch 3.04M ---> Patch 4.01 M

Actually you don't need to install 3.04 if you have 3.03 installed -
the 3.04 changes from 3.03 are included in 4.01... so you need to be
at 3.03 or 3.04 before installing 4.01. I actually did a clean
reinstall for this one, so, Forgotten Battles --> Aces Expansion Pack
---> Pacific Fighters (merged) ---> Patch 3.03m ---> Patch 4.01m.
Everything seems to work fine. The only things I've found that don't
work are some custom missions people had written where they try to
start waypoint paths with a normal flight point at zero altitude
rather than a takeoff - at some point in the past that would start you
on the ground with your engine running... well, it still does, but now
your undercarriage is up, so you basically just crash instantly - but
that's not a new issue with 4.01... it happened a couple of patches
back.

Of course, there is also a non-merged version (4.01 without the "m")
for installing into PF stand-alone.
