Pros or cons for X-Plane compared to FS

| Hello,
Let's start to discuss about X-Plane.
What pros or cons would you adress to
this sim compared to FS ??
As for me, I'm using X-Plane V8 and
I don't use FS.
The pros of X-Plane are a very sharp
flight model and the ability to design an
aircraft (or whatever you want : cars, rockets
,etc.) and test fly it in X-Plane.
The cons : lack of documentation, manuals,
a very advanced user interface which may
discouradge the beginners.

| I don't know about the updated version of X-Plane, but the ATC AI is very
weak. I trying to shoot an approach into Maui and they keep trying to vector
me into the mountains. Flight model is better than FS.

| I started civil flight sims with FS4 and have not left out any version
since. I also owned x-plane version 5.x and at that time I found it at least
equal to the MS product, I think it was FS2000 (or FS98?).
I think since FS2002 x-plane has net kept up with the improvements of the MS
flight simulator and it's add-ons, at least not for those, who look for eye
candy and simulated subsystems (like me).
However, x-plane has it's unique features like a plane builder (FS4 had
that, too, if I'm not mistaken) and the flight model is doubtlessly more
professional.
To each his own, as they say...
Cheers,
Heiko
