That is not "whining" and it is not wrong!

As a merged program there is little to complain about with the IL2,
AEP, PF merged install since you receive a few more planes and maps to
use if you are not worried about the historical inaccuracy of using
the HellCat, Wildcat, etc. in Europe. Also the patches should have
also been good news since the majority of the fixes and additions were
for IL2 (European Theater).
However, for those who purchased PF for a Pacific based, historically
accurate simulation the program and support are rather weak. While
never promised flyable Pacific based torpedo planes the very nice
pre-release video featuring Avengers attacking a Japanese vessel would
lead one to think that the player would be able to fly and control
torpedo planes. That they would not be "run on track" Al controlled by
the computer. Perhaps it is because of the excellent support for IL2
and Ace Expansion Pack that those who prefer to do PF as a stand alone
sim feel like semi-orphaned children. While I would not expect to do
naval ship vs. ship gun engagements, I would have expected to find more
ships and types of ships modeled along with the rudimentary ability to
control their movement. Being able to do carrier take offs and
landings is greatly appreciated. However, without controllable torpedo
planes, carrier landings are the only main addition to make PF unique
over what one could have done with only IL2 and AEP. Without some of
these missing things this is basically more dog fight with different
skins on the planes involved.
