Author Thoughts on the UN oil for food program
Don Burnette

2004-10-18, 5:50 pm

Our supposed "allies".

The Duelfer report exposes them, along with China, as the big 3 in the oil
for food scam. The UN allowed Sadaam to hand pick who he sold the vouchers
to, sold them at way below market cost, and then got a kick back on the
profits. Plus, buying poor quality equipment and expired medicines at full
price, allowing these same companies to make a big profit - with Sadaam
getting a kick back on those as well.

Plus, by his handpicking of top officials in these governments, he was
buying their veto at the UN for an sanctions and/or U.S. intervention.

And the UN allowed this!!

What Sadaam did not count on, was the U.S. telling the UN to go screw
themselves, and invading anyway. Sadaam got the votes he bought, but they
did not stop the United States from invading - thanks to Bush!!

Plus, that sob Sadaam , was disguising tank engines and such as "
agriculture equipment" and other sundry things, under the oil for food
umbrella.

The UN needs to be shaken up - big time! How can their votes carry any
weight with the world now? How can the Security Council, be trusted again?
And it appears, the situation, once all is exposed, will be even worse than
what is initially being seen.

Hell, both France and Russia were selling wartime equipment to Iraq right up
till the point we invaded. Equipment that could be used and was used against
American troops.

Good ole France ,Russia and China, bought and paid for with Iraq's blood
money - while Iraqi citizens, died unnecessarily. Sadaam would even stock
pile bodies of children, to later parade in public to supposedly show the
ill effects of the sanctions imposed. His goal was to buyoff members of the
UN, along with the Security Council, so he could get the sanctions lifted,
and proceed with rebuilding his chemical stockpile, while acquiring nuclear
technology.

France, Russia, and China - Iraq's strongest allies...
And these, are the same countries, Kerry would seek " Global Approval" of,
and pass their " test".

While no current weapons of mass destruction were found, he was on the tip
of getting the un sanctions lifted, and a strong program built to
reconstitute his wpm.

History will show, that invading Iraq was one of the smarter moves this
country made, and has exposed the UN, and some of our allies, for what they
are. We have stopped, dead in their tracks, a regime that in about 5 years
would have had deadly capability, and no qualms with selling that to
terrorist groups.

4 more years of this administration? Hell yeah!!

What I find interesting is that Germany and France seemingly are so
desperate to make money that they will gladly deal with the Saddams of the
world. My theory is it is because their economic systems are no longer very
competitive yet political pressures make reform nearly impossible. So their
governments are pressed to increasingly desperate measures. I really don't
see anywhere where their interests coincided with Iraqs other than
financial.

No, but what is safe to say is that your arguments merely consist of ad
hominem and denials. Most reasoning people eventually realize that
repeatedly saying "no it isn't" is not very persuasive.

Yes, this is much more important than American troops dying and being sent
on impossible missions. What a true patriot you are.

I think it is safe to say, that stating that the German and French economies

Yes, I did provide links to the numers. Unlike you I like to have evidence

And as I noted earlier, total crime is higher in Denmark as show in these
statistics from the United Nations:

This makes me wonder if poor reasoning is classified as a crime in Denmark?!

Hoooah!

Its hard to imagine Kerry can get 40% of the votes under any circumstances.
Who are those 40%+? I'd bet a vast majority are Entitlement people. Thats
to say without Government assistance they wouldnt have a job (self feeding
bureaucracy) or other form of Government aid. Heck at what point will this
number surpass the working man?

It wouldn't suprise me if we had another Bush/Gore type dead heat. I really
don't think that many people look that deep into what Kerry says and makes
the connection with entitlement spending. After the first debate the one
thing that struck me about Kerry's taking points were how expensive they
sound. Hardly anyone made mention of that when discussing the debates.
Bush ODed on the pushing the flip flop crap and never capitalized on how
Kerry was talking about spending tax payer money improving every social
program he could think of. If Kerry was more conservative on his social
programs and stuck more to the middle in his political views I would sh*tcan
Bush in a heartbeat. And I bet most of America would too. The problem is
you just can't get a candidate to talk about cutting spending in a way that
shows he really means it.

I have been to France many times, and enjoy many aspects of the culture.
However, it does have problems and is struggling to reconcile the demand for
very broad social services and benefits with an economy that is losing its
competitive advantages.

also. I drive a German car myself.

I agree with you, but nobody's perfect and President Bush beats the heck out
of the alternative. As for these particular criticisms, I don't see any
signs of President Bush trying to impose his religious beliefs, at least not
in ways that the majority don't support. And the Democrats are equally
disposed to subsidize business.

The term corporate welfare is just a hot button word. Most people
understand private business is what our country was founded upon and what
drives our economy. You understand when a Corp gets a Tax break it usually
ends up in better higher paying jobs for more Americans and creates a solid
tax base from which to fund social programs? Take Business out of the
equation and we have Communism.

Corporate welfare is creating laws that subvert the free market to give a
company an advantage. Just like all welfare, some is good and some is bad
depending on what you believe.

Given you compete inability to add anything meaningful to this or any other
discussion I think I will have to disregard you advice.

Thanks anyway,

I have been to France many times, and enjoy many aspects of the culture.
However, it does have problems and is struggling to reconcile the demand for
very broad social services and benefits with an economy that is losing its
competitive advantages.

I am not trying to broadly criticize Germany, but it faces similar problems
also. I drive a German car myself.

The United States in not perfect nor is it the place that condescending
Europeans like to describe it as.

Glad to hear. I've never been but hope to visit someday.

You mean if Kerry acted more like GW then everything would be just fine and
dandy? Thats why Im voting for Bush, he is the real-deal not some wannabe
that talks the talk but NEVER ONCE has walked the walk. Look at Kerry's 20
year Senate record again (or lack thereof).

If Bush wasn't such a advocate of corporate welfare and a viewed his
religion more as a personal matter then I'd be much happier with him as a
president.
