Author OT: Unvelievable European attitude

From http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,135243,00.html:

"HATRA, Iraq - Investigators have begun unearthing a mass grave near this
northern Iraqi village, uncovering more than 100 bodies and seeking evidence
to use in a future trial of Saddam Hussein...[but] European teams who worked
on Bosnian mass graves are not helping because of their concerns that Saddam
could face the death penalty."

So let me get this straight. European experts at recovering evidence from
mass grave sites are NOT helping in Iraq, because Saddam might face some
kind of retribution for his actions? This flies straight in the face of
decency if you ask me. However, given the recent attitude of all the
Euro-whiners lately, I am not at all surprised.

i bet you never got past 5th grade with that capitalization

But more importantly, what on earth does religion have to do with it? Let
me guess - if you found out I was a Christian, that would prove in your tiny
mind that all Christians are revenge-hungry militants bent on the
destruction of the middle east. At the same time, I bet you also buy the
old line about how Islam is a peaceful religion...

"Some kind of retribution"?

The death penalty is a disgrace that will never again be taken in use by any
truly civilized country.

Does Saddam deserve to die? Maybe so, but that's beside the point. The legal
system should not be used to kill people. Period.

Absolutely ! Just like lapidation is the best way to prevent a woman
cheating on her husband ever again. And the best cure yet for high
murder rate in the first place is... lifting a ban on assault weapons ?

I thought so.

Mr. Sylvestre

You said "the reason USA's murder statistics is only matched by some African
nations". I have shown you that it is matched and surpassed by many nations
from all the inhabited continents that have higher rates.

But that would be no more naive and over-simplified than your coment about
"euro-whiners" and how everyone's on Saddam's payroll. People don't like to
be pigeon-holed, do they?

I see you think repeated denial is an argument. I have provided the
statistics on TOTAL crime showing Denmark ranking ahead of the United
States. You can say "no it doesn't" as many times as you like but that will
not change the facts.

"So let me get this straigh. Fox News is probably misquoting,
mistranslating and even intentionally skewing the news in order to
create an argument?"

Yes, I think you are absolutely right. After all, didn't Fox News also
claim there would be Weapons of Mass Distraction in Iraq?
