Even the die-hard hd-dvd fanboys are starting to waver and moan as
more and more releases actually come out in Blu-ray and nothing comes
out in hd-dvd.

Like someone said, what's the point in having the hd-dvd hardware,
when you can't play anything on it?

I bought the PS3, but I'm no gamer...i use it to watch Blu-ray on my
new HDTV...once in awhile though, you just gotta lay back and play
games online (in my case, get killed real quick in resistance - hehe),
all the while thinking about all the chumps who forgot, IT'S ALL ABOUT
THE CONTENT.

Congrats on being a possible cause of Sony's downfall. Yes, an
individual like YOU. You are no gamer. How many games do you
seriously think you plan on buying for the PS3? At $250+ loss per
system, how many do you think Sony needs you to buy to recover the
costs of their system.

And it is all about the content... as in GAME content. When the PS3
starts having a large number of must-have exclusives, feel free to
contact me. But, since you aren't a gamer, you wouldn't have a clue
as to what good game content is anyway.

Funny how a trolling person for the PS3 and BluRay would speak on
content. Content is the ONE thing the PS3 is lacking now. Well,
there are others, but it is the TOP thing.

Is that why you are constantly trolling here? If it's so great, why aren't
you using it?

I never listen to anything said by someone who uses terms
like "fan-boy".

Ummmm... The only BluRay exclusive titles are from Sony Picture Studios, and
for good reason.

It's this thinking that is going to win Sony the console AND the HD format
race. Yes he bought a PS3 with no games, but console sales are one of the
main things that software companies look at when scheduling new products. So
his purchase while hurting Sony right now, will indeed help Sony in the long
run.

THEORETICALLY. This is providing that people buy enough PS3 games to
cover the costs. Blu-Ray as a standard doesn't lock Sony into a
profit either, because people could buy competitor BluRay players.
And the price of a BluRay player isn't going to forever be more than
the PS3 costs. So, if people want BluRay movie player, they will go
elsewhere for it. Sony will be left with the need to get games.

But for now, if people are buying the PS3, either to watch movies or
play games, then they are buying PS3's period. And, if PS3's are moving
off the shelves, that is going to bolster game production, which in turn
will bolster PS3 sales, which in turn will bolster game purchases, etc
ad infinitum. And if PS3's do sell in large numbers (which I personally
doubt) then Blu-Ray will stand a much better chance of being the
dominant force.

A PS3 sale is a PS3 sale, regardless of what it's being used for.

That doesn't change the fact that both the 360 and Wii are outselling the
PS3.

Buy a PS3 for blu-ray movies? Maybe. It IS the cheapest BR player on the
market. But with combo-drives an inevitability, why buy only half a
solution? It's not as if the initial BR discs are going anywhere. There
is no reason to jump on either format until either combo-players appear,
or one format clearly becomes the champion.

Buy a PS3 for games available now? Why? There's only one exclusive
that's halfway decent. The other exclusives got pretty bad ratings, and
the multi-platform games - at worst - look/play identical on the cheaper
360.

Buy a PS3 for future games? Bad idea. Games get delayed and even
cancelled all the time. Buying a console - even early in its lifecycle -
on the assumption that there WILL be games you want to play is just
silly. If there are games you want to play NOW, by all means buy one.
But buying a console just to have it sit around gathering dust for months
on end while you wait for those games to come out isn't a good idea. You
might as well shove the money you were planning on spending into your
saving account and make a few bucks while you wait.
