| Anyone picked up Samurai Warriors 2 yet?
Impressions?
Any word on SW2:XL yet? (we all know it's coming...just a matter of
time...)
I personally didn't like SW much until I got SW:XL which removed the
stupid limitation on obtaining skill points after you reached lvl 20.
Does SW2 have similar limitations or is it totally different?

SW:Empires? Is that supposed to be like the DW:Empire series?
I haven't been very impressed with DW4:empire or DW5:empire. They're
basically the same engine from the DW game with some extra strategy bits
glued on. It almost feels like it should have been an alternate play mode
for the main DW line. Unfortunatly, the strategy bits don't really add
anything to the game for me. I consider myself quite proficient with the
fighting engine, but am by no means an expert. Still, it seems I was able
to go into even the worst of battles and pull out a victory.
In DW5:empires, the enemy AI is very very very stupid and predictable.
It simply makes beelines towards your bases. Using this knowledge, and a
horse, it's possible to intercept an advancing general before he reaches
your base, an beat him into the dirt while he's trying to run. Pathetic.
Also, the manual for DW5:Empires was pretty poor. In fact, I ended up
conquering all of China using some unknown general. I accidentally
dismissed my main generals, or ended up sending them to the wrong
provinces where they couldn't help me at all. I was also annoyed that I
couldn't break treaties. I had to wait several turns, doing nothing,
simply because i'd signed a treaty with the sole remaining ruler on the
board. What sort of silliness is this? If the goal is to conquer China,
and there's only 1 ruler left, all treaties should have expired immediatly.
Oh well. Maybe if SW:Empires comes over here, and it fixes these problems
with DW5:Empires, I might pick it up while waiting for SW2:XL to arrive.

yup.. except in the SW universe. Japanese release is 11/16

me either. I've finished them, but found them too light on the strategy
department

I wouldn't count on it. Koei is fully locked into cash cow mode right
now. They won't have any original games until the PS3 (Fatal Inertia,
Blade Storm, NiOh).

Well, I found SW2 on sale for $35, and knowing I'm going to get it sooner
or later, just bought it. The stores around here don't quite understand
the relationship between the non-XL and XL titles. As soon as ...-XL
comes out, the original game goes missing - or remains at full price, even
though I have seen some stores mark the XL title down to $20. Oh well.
I know I'll get my money's worth out of the titles.
