Do you have any brasso? A nice soft cloth and work one the silver side
of the disc. I don't know if it's recommended to just rub the one spot
or to wipe the whole disc, but I did it with an old game which just
wouldn't load and it worked.
If he is using the new slimline I think that center spindle can damage
them quite badly. If it's the old front loader it could be many things
including rough handling. I have even had a purple disc which i could
hear being damaged and it was brand new. returned to shop for new copy
of the game and it seems the lens was actually bumping up and hitting
the disc for some reason.
