I'm guessing this is a typo with the "64" missing since there's no such
computer as a "Commodore". Commodore is a company that used to make and
sell computers called PET, VIC20, C64 (Comodore 64), Amiga, CD32 and a
PC clone or two. Of course, towards the end the company was run by a
bunch of greedy idiots who didn't have any clue what they were doing,
so they ran the company into the ground. :-(

Which was awfully crazy, as a niche had found them.
Where Apple, back in the 1980s, found the desktop publishing
market -- and grabbed it -- a brand spanking new desktop
video market found Commodore. Do the google thing on "Video
Toaster."
Unfortunately, the management over at Commodore was
far too busy trying to steal millions to see the long term
benefits in owning a market that could have one day
controlled every television and movie studio in the world.

Commodore management - one of the most unqiue groups of idiots in
management, maybe only closely mirrorred by the management of Apple's
Newton, or those currently running Filemaker.

Indeed. The Fifth Dimension was not even a band (before anyone starts

instruments).

That's true. You only need two: -
1. Always solve two problems at once if at all possible.
2. "Every action has an equal and opposite reaction" doesn't just apply to
the science of mechanics. Think alligators, swamps and Iraq.

It doesn't really matter which console.
Until the PSP arrived there wasn't really ANY competition for the
GameBoy line in the handheld consoles, so Nintendo obviously wins
there.
For the early 'plug into your TV' consoles, the NES is generally
considered the best, although again there wasn't a lot of competition.
Moving into the current age, the GameCube does have a fanatical
following and in many ways is a better device than either Sony or
Microsoft's attempts, but unfortunately fell victim to the old lack of
advertising and (partly) therefore less popular. The new Nintendo (with
the rather silly name of "Wii") is again arguably the better "next
generation" console, on paper anyway, it remains to be seen what
actually ships from Sony and Nintendo.

Even stranger, given the Mac's graphical capabilities at the time, the
"Video Toaster" people decided to shift to the PC when Amiga
self-imploded. :-\
The Amiga STILL has a faithful, if small, following. Many still hoping
that the next company to buy out the Commodore / Amiga name will
actually do something with it. The last thing I read was that some
idiotic company had bought the name and was planning to release MP3
players under that name ... same as greedy Hollyweird fools having the
rights to the name and making something completely different. :-(

There's some debate over whether the Wright Brothers were actually

That's from the Ten Years After
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ten_Years_After
song I'd Love To Change The World. In context, I interpret it as a
lament on the futileness of life and this specifically as a critique
of the idiocy of trying to solve problems by coercion. As in "what
happens to poor we fed when there are no more rich?"

It is too bad that you didn't learn a little humility along the way.
Many of the superlatives that you state as fact are merely a
matter of taste/opinion.
I have no problem with your stating your opinion on these topics.
But many might say that they are too dogmatic....

In fact, at one time, it was more popular that the Apple

Atari2600 is the best home video game system.
Borjomi the best health drink.
Coney Island has the best, hottest, horniest chicks anywhere.

Funny. It was at a Roxy Music concert in 2001 that people first started
claiming my likeness to Jerry Garcia. I hadn't realized it but unless I
keep my hair short I get a lot of comments.

To be fair, I've made a lot of progress in the last 13 years, so
there's time. The smell might still turn into an aroma.
