PS2 & Component Cables
|
|
|
| I saw a component cable in the store today, and I was wondering if anyone
has actually used one with an LCD TV? I was wondering if there were any
difference in picture quality?
Also, would I need an external audio set-up to work with it?
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
Gus

I only finally bought component cables for my PS2 so I could play
GT4 in 1080i. Turned out it looks bettery on my RP LCD TV in 480p -
which also requires component cables. So yes, I'd have to say it
can make a positive difference. For the games that support 480p or
higher, see hdtvarcade.com. Also, in theory, component cables
provide a better picture than S-video, which is better than std
composite cables for any given resolution.
No, you don't need an external audio setup. Just hook the usual red
and white audio cables up to your TV. Though optical digital out
can provide better sound.
BTW, don't pay too much for cables. I think I got mine for <$20.

| Sure it works, a lcd tv should have speakers.....
btw, don't expect the games to look like much cause lcd tvs are
usually of very low contrast, like 600:1, but your CRT tv is 5000:1...
great for games.

| Just make sure you get cable that have the audio with them ( some just have
the video)
