| It was on the side of a bus stop, and featured nothing but a melted clock
on a wall, a large picture of a PS3, and the words "Playstation 3: PLAY R3AL"
(I think that's what it said.) No game play, not even a TV was shown in
the ad. Just a 4' image of the PS3.
Sums up Sony's mentality perfectly. It's the PS3! You don't care what it
is, or what it can do, but we know you want one!
It's the PS2 all over again.

Not with ads like that.
At least the meaningless PS9 ad was amusing. This one just reminds me of
those ridiculously horrible art galleries where all the people smoke
skinny cigarettes and call you "Daaaahling."

lol.
You mean that the PS3 is going to go under your TV?? I was planning on
putting mine up on the mantle as a conversation piece. Or do you think it
would look better as the center piece on the dining room table??

| I saw something similar at my local Gamestop. It was more like a floor
mat, though. I think Sony's ad is simple and to the point. It's getting
it's message across, alright. The question is, will we see more of the
hardware and software before launch?

Well, according to the ad, aparentally you're supposed to place it in
the center of an empty room painted artisticly white - symbolizing the
simplicity of design, openess of possibility
....and the emptiness of your wallet.

I've seen these ads in both white and black.
Quite a metaphor, there. Sony certainly spares nothing making sure that
the PS3 is literally the center of their advertisement.
Though I really didn't think twice about it not having the price on
it...

Oops, should mention prices eh?
Kays
Wii with one game - =A3259
two games =A3289
two games and extra remote =A3319
games priced at =A344
PS3 60gb and one game =A3549 =
60gb and two games =A3609
60gb 2 games and controler =A3639
with 3 games =A3659
with 4 games =A3699
games priced at =A355
-----------------------------------
LX direct (same catalogue but no interest payments on original
pricing)
same Wii packages as above are all =A329 cheaper and games priced at =A34=
0
same PS3 packages prices change quite dramatically, =A349 cheaper on the
littlest bundle up to =A369 cheaper on the largest and games priced at
=A350 each.
-----------------------------------
Don't know how realistic that is but as comparison they have the 360
as
Kays core system =A3219 - full system =A3309
LX core system =A3200 - full system =A3280
----------------------------------
you'll guess I've got me order in for the 4 game PS3 package from =
Kays.
Is there an emoticon for sarcasm yet? :O) =

I didn't even think they would put ads until after Christmas Let's
face it, regardless of anything we all know they will sell like crazy
until after next year, that's when they should start placing ads

Come on everyone. In Europe, they have the ad "This is Living!". That
one reminds people the PS3 is not dead yet.
