Medievil PSP is hella fun!

| I never played Medievil on the PS1 but Medievil for the PSP looks like
it turned out great. The graphics are caricature but extremely sharp
and beautiful. The animation is terrific. The gameplay is really good
with movement very controllable with either the D-pad or the analog
stick. The levels are pretty large considering they are on the PSP. The
load times are quick as well as the saves. It sounds like they turned
up the volume for the game so it is loud enough even for the PSP
external speakers. The humor is kind of campy and corny but very
amusing. The only slight drawback is that it looks like it is going to
be fairly short. It is pure fun for now.

I guess the axe didn't fall on Bliggety's PR job. Everything I've read about
this title has it not living up to expectations. I'm gonna have to give it a
test drive with a rental first.

I never played the PS version and I'd read that the PSP version wasn't that
great but personally I think its pretty good.

It's good but not spectacular. Great animation, great sound and music, good
sense of humor. But it gets repetitive pretty quick. I got to the
fire-shooting robo-guards with the rifles -- the level where the mayor gets
kidnapped -- and gave up. Controls are a little twitchy. Great if you were a
fan of the originals I suppose.
I'm on a road trip from hell this weekend, stuck in the middle of nowhere...
and about to take the shrinkwrap off Burnout Legends. Sweet, sweet cheese.

BTW is it just me, or does hearing Grandpa Bligmerk say "hella fun" make you
wince? It's like hearing your friend's dad say "hey dudes, that looks wicked
rad!" because he's trying to be cool and failing miserably.

He's just over pimping the product as usual. Let me know how you like Burnout.
I'm thinking about getting it at Fry's since they low balled the price.

It is good, not nearly as good though as the original games. If anyone
missed those and wants to REALLY play the Medievil games then pick up a copy
of the original PS versions of it and give those a try (or rent it somewhere
if you can find it.) Overall I think this PSP version is around a 7 out of
10, the others were in the 8.5 to 9 range. Controls and all on this version
don't seem as good as original PS versions...

What a shame. It sounds as if they had spent a little more time polishing up
the controls it would have been a winner.

I've just got to those nasty guards, unfortunately with not much life left
after defeating the pumpkins.
