GTA:SA pulled from ARM
|
|
|
| Well, how about that, Codejunkies is using brute force to pull GTA:SA from
Action Replay Max.
At first, I thought that I might've just accidently deleted GTA:SA but then
after deleting the entire list ("user_list.dat"), re-installing from CD
(GTA:SA was back), and then it is deleted from an update download. Tried it
twice and same thing both times.
Nothing on their website about why GTA:SA was removed, and the
"modification" (deletion) of GTA:SA isn't listed in the New/Modified lists
prior to update download. The modification is from one of those "blank"
entries.
Guess they were put under pressure because of the stupid coffee thing and
decided, "Lets just put an entry in the update to delete it and maybe nobody
will notice." How XXXXing lame.
Give me a damn break. Anyone that wants to do the "Hot Coffee" thing will
enter the codes manually, anyway. Besides, the "Hot Coffee" sex thing is
only really funny the first couple times you do it. Afterwards, its not
that big of a deal.
I only use ARM to enable invincibility every now and then so can go on full
"hell-raising exploration". I don't use it for missions. I never save with
it enabled. Its just fun to explore with. Codejunkies attempting to pull
GTA:SA "under the radar" is really XXXXing stupid. I was able to get
around it by after the third time doing the re-install, I saved (to PC) the
GTA:SA codes right away, did the update, and then restored (from PC) the
GTA:SA codes. Now, I can download the updates without them deleting GTA:SA
(for time being, until Codejunkies decides otherwise) thought, but thats not
the point. The point is that they tried to pull a fast one with no
explanation.

You could always use the button codes instead. down, right, left, right,
right trigger, right, down, up Y I think it is for maximum health.

Yeah, but it doesn't stay 'enabled'. :^)
re: ARM rant
Ugh,
Don't know what I was thinking in the previous post, but that
"backup/restore" is only for a game save. Individual sets of ARM codes for
a specific game can not be backed-up and restored to PC. They can't even be
edited and/or transfered from PC to ARM, with the exception of just the
"updates". The "updates" are large files downloaded at Datel's servers that
include new games and modifications to old game codes (including the
deletion of GTA:SA).
So, GTA:SA entries will have to be manually entered. SOB. I wouldn't be so
damn annoyed had Date/Codejunkies put a notice on their website as to WHY
they were deleted. Obviously, it has something to do with the stupid "Hot
Coffee" sex thing. (The codes to activate it were never included in Datel's
codes though.) Who is putting the fire to their XXX? Rockstar? I doubt it.
Sure, the "Hot Coffee" thing is embarrassing for Rockstar (since it was left
in), but how could they really try to coerce anyone from not using something
they put in. I'm betting that some BS, "faith-based", book-burning,
soccer-mom group put the fire to Datel's XXX.
Come on, Datel. Simply deleting GTA:SA outright with no explanation is
lame. Disclose the reason and you'll get support. Put GTA:SA back in and
tell, whoever, to XXXX off.
(...now I have to go punch in a bunch of damn codes manually)

Just type it in each time you need to use them. It only takes a few seconds
to do.

Its going to take much longer than "a few seconds" to use that sequence on a
PS2.
"You could always use the button codes instead. down, right, left, right,
right trigger, right, down, up Y"
<puzzled look while trying to find the "triggers" and "Y" on PS2 controller>
Sorry, I couldn't resist. I know what you meant. :^)
BTW: How is the Xbox version of GTA:SA? Are there any weird sound glitches,
like the "quiet pedestrians" when GTA:VC was ported from PS2 to XBox?
Thinking about picking up the XBox GTA:SA, if for nothing else then at least
for custom soundtracks. The sound glitch with the XBox GTA:VC put me off
though. I have the XBox GTA:VC but never play it over the PS2/PC versions.
PS2 Infinite Healths (For the last three people in the world that are
looking for them)
Down, X, Right, Left, Right, R1, Right, Down, Up, Triangle
Infinite health
R1, R2, L1 , X, Left , Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up
$250,000, full health and armor

haha sorry I made a wrong assumption there.
Well I have played both and the xbox seems less glitchy and does definitely
look better. The most noticeable for me was driving top speed on a
motorcycle you can see that the xbox handles it more fluidly.

| Ya friggin' muppet - although the CodeJizzMonkeys from Datel try to
stop anyone using them, the AR Max codes for SA are still available
form all over the place.
I won't tell you where -> ask Google (Hint: they are listed on most of
the better GTA web boards). Still have to manually enter the desired
codes, mind.

Don't look at me, not me with the problem codes :-)

Uhm,
I do have all the GTA:SA ARM codes. My aggrevation is from having to
*manually* enter them since Datel put a "block" on GTA:SA.
Cheers,

Didn't he say he had the codes? Wouldn't that make your hint fairly
useless?

Serves you right.
You had no business putting GTASA in your arm in the first place.
