I know a bit of French, so please allow me to translate the disclaimer with
the BIG STAR NEXT TO IT underneath the item description. In English it
reads: "Note: The price and release date of the console are not definite and
are subject to change. However we advise you to reserve as quickly as
possible in order to get your console on the national release date."
And let me translate that into even easier to understand English: "Please
pre-order now so we can have your 400 Euros up front and make interest on it
for the next six months to a year, even though we have no idea when the PS3
is coming out or how much it will cost. Thanks suckers!"
Tell you what, Blig. If the PS3 is out in France on March 15, I'll fly over
there and buy one for you. At any price.

Oh, I guess you probably really know a bit french (or you are able to
surf to babelfish). Anyway some of your brain must have gone
brain-dead, because only morons would state that "amazon would cash in
up front". Amazon bills when they ship your order - which would be the
day PS3 gets released.

Have you ever used Babelfish to translate something? Usually it comes out

Ah, good point. So instead of getting your money up front, they're just
locking in a sale by posting a completely fabricated price and release date
(tho the price is probably pretty close to what it will be.) Then when the
real price and release date are announced, people will say, "Oh well, might
as well just stick with my Amazon pre-order." It's actually pretty clever.

Oh my goodness - I just took a look at their policy - "no pre-orders
may be canceled at any time" - yes you are truly a genius and found the
real evil in the world. No, that's not hitler - no, it's not bush. Yes,
you got it: It's amazon.fr by letting people preorder playstation 3!!!
If someone really pre-orders now and gets a better price 2 days before
release - well then he has the option to use that god-damn CANCEL
button. Of course if he is retarded in some manner (like you are) then
I bet he will stick to the higher price instead of using that button.
You know what CANCEL means don't you?
Makes me wonder why amazon.com doesn't list it yet. USA definitely
occupies most morons in the world.

You're not going to get a better price on a console on the day of its
release. Why do you think EB is selling $700 Xbox 360 bundles? Becuase they
can! Because that's how high the demand is, and it'll be the same for PS3.
Don't be so dense. And it's not just Amazon, EB does this all the time too.
They invent a price and release date that they hope is close to reality (tho
March 15 is totally unrealistic for a Europe release) and then collect
pre-orders, knowing full well very few people are going to cancel and switch
their pre-order to another vendor selling for the SAME PRICE just because
the release date and price changed from what the pre-order guessed.
